  1. We are recruiting again - Still looking for an experienced and qualified Team Leader (Ground or Aerial) that can tackle any job, run a team, work efficiently, and get the best out of an enthusiastic team with a view to really developing others as well as progressing your own career.
Experienced Climbers or Groundsman - we're looking for you too, even if you don't want to run a team.
Rates of pay I hear everyone ask? Negotiable - Really! If you are new with no tickets and no experience it's going to be Living Wage, if you have a wallet full of NPTC cards a grizzled worldly look, and nothing phases you on a job, huge trees, cranes, terrible drop-zones, awful weather, storm damage, tight deadlines, great team spirit? Tell us what you want and we'll consider it - but you had better be worth what you're asking...😉
Also still looking for a PAYE Arb Surveyor - Experience preferred - L4/6, PTI able to take on BS5837's, Condition reports, Mortgage reports... But we will also consider someone newly qualified who we can bring on and train up, but must have an Arb qualification and some experience of surveying trees.
Interested in any of the roles? email: [email protected] or call 01902 892652 and speak to Dan or Keith.

  2. Now that I have your attention.......

We are a busy Arb Approved Tree Surgery and consultancy business working in the commercial and domestic sectors. Our regular clients include housing developers, pub & restaurant chains and schools in addition to our repeat and one-off domestic customers.

We are currently looking to expand our teams to cope with our current workload and are seeking an experienced and qualified climbing arborist. If you are a Climber with appropriate NPTC Chainsaw certificates (ground and aerial) we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about working with trees, who takes pride in their work and relishes the challenge of a varied work load. Experience and qualifications are essential for this role, but equally as important is the right attitude, we are looking for a climber who wants to learn and progress to Team Leader and beyond.

We are happy to invest in our staff to help them achieve goals, you will be provided with work uniform and all necessary PPE, work tools and ongoing training and development.

It would be very beneficial if you also hold a CSCS card as a great deal of our work is on building sites, however, this can be arranged. We will also carry out a DBS check for our work at schools and care homes.

It would be beneficial if you are able to drive, up to 3.5t and tow a trailer but this is not essential.

We also have 7.5t & 18t lorries, tractor, excavators, etc so HGV or any operators licences would also be beneficial but not essential.

We are looking for a full-time employee but may consider part-time for the right candidate(s) or work on a labour-only sub-contract basis if preferred.

Salary negotiable depending on experience, we are a Real Living Wage Employer.

  8. Thanks again.
I'm not disputing what any of you have said but surely if he is paying his tax there shouldn't really be a problem because that's really what it comes down to. As long as he pays his and I pay mine then I cant see a problem.
I have tried to figure it out from the gov website but I think the only way to be sure is to call them as I dont want to get into any trouble over it.

  9. Hi all.

We have a guy who currently works with us 2 days a week on a self employed basis. Hes a really good guy with a fair amount of experience and we would like him to come full time. I approached him with an offer to get him 5 days a week which involved a wage plus straight away his HGV licence, his trailer licence and his rigging ticket. Then every year we spend X of money training him for the next 5 years which would probably leave him with Level 2 or 4 and PTI  he would be pretty well established and experienced by then. He was over the moon with the offer and wants to come work here but he would rather come self employed because he knows where he stands financially and he does have a wife, kids mortgage and a dog!!

So what i want to know is could i take him on self employed and pay part of the course fees but leave myself with some sort of security? Could i get him to sign something to say if he buggers off straight away (which he wont because he is genuinely a good guy) that he has to pay the fees back? Or would what he signs not be worth the paper it is written on?

i dont want to complicate matters with him and i want it to be straight forward. We are both gambling with this little adventure but we will both benefit so theres no reason why he would screw me over but i just want that little bit of security.

    Anywhom any advice is appreciated!

  10. Wolverhampton Tree Service are looking for a full or part time climber to join our already medium size and experienced team ASAP!

All the relevant tickets are required  and a driving licence and CSCS is much preferred. Fair rates of pay depending on experience.

If you are an experienced groundsman with tickets, driving licence and CSCS we would consider taking you on.

We mainly work within the West Midlands but we do occasionally work further a field. Our work ranges from small domestic jobs to site clearance, schools, pubs, parks, building sites, railways, canals, highways etc.

Call 01902 892652 or email me at [email protected].
