I'm in the same position...got a few tickets and doing 40 41 next month and after a while got my first days proper work ...at the end of the day every single person has started at the bottom and worked up ...so long as your confident but not cocky and willing to learn and take on board what your being told then go for it ....

I can't get on the app ...had to go on website not sure if it's just me ???.

Appreciate the advice ...thank you....I'm making calls to firms about getting experience like I say I realise that I need to learn a lot...wouldn't dream of doing anything to big .I have faced a slightly similar situation in trying to get started with no experience. I also begun to do my own jobs, start very small and build up, I got Employers and Public Liability insurance from Trust as they calculated on turnover so £600 for my first year. This has gone up a lot now also with tools chipper etc insured but they were very good when my trailer was nicked just after taking the policy.
I was also warned off giving anything which can be construed as advice, you need proper arb qualifications and Professional Liability insurance for that because it might be insurance company lawyers going after you to recover cost of damage incurred. If someone asks me if a tree is safe I explain situation and recommend local firms.
It's not insurance but something I did once I had 30/31 was to volunteer with the Wildlife Trust, I have by now felled hundreds of trees for them which is all good experience and also started some subcontract work with a firm through a friend of the warden. Small firms are naturally cautious about unknown people but talk to each other so the network is important. -

Sub contracting to begin with mate then hopefully just very little jobs got no experience and to be honest I've phoned over 30 company's and got no where so I thought try this avenue I've been talking to some country estates about doing the odd day even doing hedges and cutting lawns just to get some work as I'm on the bones of my arse lol ....

Skylander equipment.Hi,
I’m just about to start my climbing career so buying all the gear!
Any recommendations for harnesses and kit would be great.
I have found these climbing kits from Northern Arb Supplies in Sheffield, any comments on if they are worth the price etc would be great.
I’ve already bought a 201 saw, but any other pointers on kit for climbing would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance -
I would definitely recommend arb for training Gareth is the instructor .great service up .
