  1. Thankfully its only a show piece that doesn't get used in anger! The guy has been slowly fixing bits of equipment for it but says that saw used to be awesome for putting points on fence posts!
  2. Who needs an emergency stop?!
  3. New wood's arrived and it burns fantastic! Absolutely pumps out the heat! Even took the time to help me stack it on delivery! Didn't want to be a keyboard warrior and bash them at the first hiccup, but more than happy to name and praise! Guys at A J Firewood Pontypool bent over backwards to work with the times I was available. Can't recommend these guys enough! A+ Service!
  4. So far so good, supplier has been really helpful. Said I can nigh on keep the damp logs and have a fresh load coming up on Monday
  5. Cheers for the advice guys, supplier has been as good as gold and thinks it might have been a cock up on the rotation in the kiln. Arranging for a swap around when convenient for both As above, wasn't looking for a witch hunt, just making sure I wasn't being ott in testing the cores of the wood.
  6. From what I can gather kiln dried should be below 20%? Hoping to get a call back off them tomorrow. Really just wanted to check I wasn't being a bit ott cutting the log open and testing?
  7. In the UK, don't want to give too much away on where I am as I'm not into the whole naming and shaming keyboard warrior type of thing.
  8. Pretty sure they dry them in the UK
  9. Hi guys, just got a delivery of kiln dried wood today, seemed good at first glance. Lit fire, rubbish output. Chopped logs in two and getting 35 - 40% MC. Guessing I've been tucked up?
