  1. I’ll put that forward to them Monday when they look at it but I’m pretty sure they’ve checked all of that and replaced filters etc. maybe an electrical fault somewhere this is what it sounds like when it dies. IMG_1333.MOV
  2. Yes it is the Honda engine it’s about 5-6 years old I think. I maybe thought it could be possibly a faulty sensor like oil sensor or hydraulic fluid sensor I can’t say the blades are extremely sharp but will get them turned over to the sharper side tomorrow but I couldn’t imagine having a dull blade would cut out the engine. If I choke it after it’s cut out starts first time without fail. Won’t start again unless choked though
  3. Hello can anyone help me diagnose my chippers problem last week it started cutting out on me mid way through use so sent it straight to local machinery repair place gave it a full engine service etc sent it back said it was working fine. 5 minutes later it happened again only happens when stuff is being fed through the rollers it just cuts out. Used again today cut out 5 times in 5 minutes then worked perfectly fine for the next hour I don’t want to keep spending money taking it to my local place and it not being fixed. Has anyone had anything similar like this happen to them any help would be greatly appreciated
  4. I’ve used the grinder today and yesterday first time very impressed heavy but an absolute beast! Been using it on half throttle due to the power but will come in handy on some of the huge stumps! Also got a price for spraying etc was well over a £1000 by the time it was stripped blasted and sprayed. Was going to be to expensive so sand paper primer and spray original Greenmech colour under £100 labour spray etc bargain
  5. I’m guessing like all the Greenmech stickers etc I can get from a local Greenmech dealer? Safety ones also
  6. Think I’m going to go down the route of doing it myself to be honest just seems to pricey I don’t want a perfect job just appealing to the eye from a distance haha
  7. Okay got a price for the spraying etc of the machine think me and a mate between us are going to do it close to £1000 by the times it’s been stripped down
  8. I think it came from a hire company up north to then the chap I brought it from to now me
  9. Did you find out or was you joking haha. Also will it be hard to get small spare parts for it as some bits have been bodged on it like the choke
  10. Is there any way of finding out the year of my machine I can’t seem to find it anywhere on the machine.
  11. It’s had oil changes etc should hopefully be using it in two weeks on a large apple tree after we remove the tree I’ve always liked a machine which also looks tidy on the eye always reflects well on the business as many people always say about the van it came with a set of brand new teeth also just a shame it needs rubbing down priming and spraying stop the rust getting too bad should hopefully last many more years to come
  12. Nothing At the moment we only use 30-50 days a year just got fed up of hiring and this one came up for £2000 5 miles down the road just needs a good rub down then primed and sprayed should look like new hopefully
  13. Would It be easy to get spare parts for this machine?
  14. Has anyone ever had a, or used a greenmech stump grinder I’ve just brought one needs some TLC in the respect of a spray job but apart from that all works well. It’s the model exactly the same as the predator 450 but probably was before the predator took the model over. Just wondering how good they are reliable etc
  15. I’ve got a drive shaft. Just need the outer tube, I thought I could maybe take it off of one of the hedge cutter and use that tube with the drive shaft I have but they are about 6 inches shorter than the drive tube which stihl no longer sell.
  16. I guess I’ll have to just try and look and hope a second hand one pops up at some point then…hopefully. I’m not sure I gave up getting them fixed and buying new parts just seemed to happen over and over again it just wasn’t cost effective to keep replacing the drive tubes so they now just sit in the garage gathering dust. We use extensions poles almost every day and I don’t think they can’t handle everyday use. Another stupid idea of stihl among many other things.
  17. Hello does anyone know where or how I could make one of the old aluminum stihl extension pole like the older type ones the carbon fibre ones last me 10 minute before they stop driving and have one of the older ones which I’ve had for 5 year plus without any problems what do ever. But stihl don’t seem to sell the spare parts to make one up.
  18. I’ve tried this on both ms211 worked but the threads were damaged in the plastic. So had to super glue the screw in to keep it from turning and being able to tighten the nut. Friend helicoiled the 391 but still it continues to shake the screws lose. Has suggested loctite but if that’s doesn’t work to buy the spare parts for the ms391 isn’t worth it will cost £200 plus.
  19. Can anyone help me or do I need to take it to proper machinery repairs or can I buy the parts to replace exhaust on my ms391 keeps falling off looks like the threads have gone in the head. the bolt which you connect the sprocket cover to has managed to also damage all the threads inside and on the screw. Ms211 do I need to change the whole chainsaw frame
  20. Hello nope that’s what I have on it at the moment I’m wanting to covert it to a more chunky chain and bar which would mean changing sprockets etc
  21. Has anyone changed the sprocket bar and chain over on the pole pruners as I don’t seem to be getting on very well with the newer type bar and chain compared to the older ones which they stopped doing about 8 years ago. Any help as to what sprocket etc is put on them would be of great help thanks
  22. Problem is I’ve got to not go to big in the actual size of the stove we had a stud wall fitted around it with the tv etc so it also means I may have to adjust all that so it’s not too close to the cement board as it’s all been made to there regulations
  23. Hello need help switching my new log burner to a newer one I have a 4.8kw stovax Stockton which is okay but when it’s really cold it struggle to give enough heat even just for the one room it’s in. We want something which gives off more than enough heat which we then have to open the doors in the house to let the heat circulate the house. Any help or advice would help
