Well the Rowan tree has succumbed to the chan saw, dead as a dodo and no sap rising

I put them in a glass sample jar and two have now changed into a small black fly.

Can anyone tell what these little brown grubs are that are under the bark of a rowan tree. They are about 4 mm long.

In august last year the leaves started with black spots, the bark began peeling and splitting and berries all fell off. The tree this year is showing no signs of growing so any ideas of the problem would be welcome.

Is this serious for the tree to die or can it recover?

My mature Rowan tree leaves are covered an brown spots and look as though they are dying with orange and brown coloured leaves and the berries also seem to be dying off. The base of the trunk bark has splits in it exposing a dark brown inside of wood. Anyone know what this could be and is it a death knell for the tree.
