  1. Hey guys Ok I used stihl strimmers for years had a fs40 just for going round edges of lawns and basics trimming in small gardens and lasted me for years now its life has came to an end, bought a fs38 thinking that there would be not much difference my god what a pile of junk it's like a cheap kids toy now after a month of use it won't start lol so this is going back to the dealers and when it's fixed will sit in my shed for ever more. With stihl new policy of ordering online just wondering what would be an alternative to the fs40 cheers
  2. Thanks guys for the recommendation bought the echo long reach also a small hedge trimmer haven't used the hedge trimmer yet but used the long reach and I love it, nice finish and a nice light bit of kit compared to the km100r I had. Sold the km100r for spares on ebay for £90 and the trimmer attachment for £130 so that will come off my bill happy days
  3. Well looks like a echo any particular model I should look out for? Thanks for all the replys
  4. Right guys having went from buying a 300 hedge cutter my km100r has just dropped a valve so now I'm after a long reach hedge cutter or multi tool, I'm starting to think it's a good idea to move away from sthil as the new strummer I bought the other week is awful so any recommendations would be appreciated thanks

I bought a hayter harrier from ebay for 40 it's a 1995 model but runs and cuts well nice and light and great for small gardens, the old guy serviced it every year starts like a new one them old guys sure know how to look after there mowers untill I get my hands on them be lucky if it sees out the season
  7. Hey my km100r combi keeps flooding to the point that I. Have a soaked air fliter and then it won't start if I remove the fliter starts and runs fine but that's not good , just wondered if any u guys have any solution for this all my other stihl gear are 2 stroke and never have this problem
  8. The echo looks a good buy for £387 and I like the 2 yr pro warranty, I have considered an electric hedge cutter the ones with the battery pack strapped on the back. Just for the simple fact that the fumes blowing in your face when you have the hedge cutter near you any one had experience with electric hedge cutter:thumbup:
