A marathon runner burn about 2500Kcal per race,do you know how he feel next day,so if you burn over 4000 Kcal by manually working I am afraid you gonna die next day🤣So if you burning just 4770 calories you are lazy sod🤪Good manual work about 50 to 100 Kcal per hour

Yeah its a calorie count across the board ie bmr + exercise so its going to be inflated compared to just exercise calorie burn.Im still convinced it measures hand movements(as mentioned above) as footsteps!

Dont ask how i think this....ahem!

Handy tool to have i was hoping it was legit so i could justify feeding the fat kid in me by eat more cakes.

Back to the protein bars for me then!

  2. So recently been wearing a fitbit watch to track my calories, steps and cardio "zone" fitness and i was surprised at my calorie burn on a somewhat normal day.Little bit of climbing this morning, back on the deck for about 10am then crosscutting, dragging and chipping till about 5pm.

    4770 odd calories....23,358 steps

I know these things are approximate but it does monitor heartbeat so it must be in the ballpark.Anyone else wear one of these watches? And if so whats the craic with them?

Well, we're firmly on th same page regarding Labour. (surprisingly)  They are/where at leats a laughing stock. At least Starner is a veneer of respectability and authority.

Polls are wånk, all polls are wånk. Conformation bias for those that need that kinda conformation back-up. But I actually can see what you say has been predicted coming to fruition. Scotland is a country of greedy, freeloading soap dodging jakie bams. Is England to blame here? Perhaps. The reality ( in my mind) is the vast majority of the Scottish people have come to rely on  the state. Be that the teat of the Tories (I'll assume the Tories plan all along) or now as the Tories have long lost their grip the SNP.

The SNP panders the lowest common denominator. Thats the vast majority of the Scottish population. A sub-servient Sink Estate minimum wage or most likely dole bum that cling to the SNP's false hope of a better Scotland free of England Yoke.

This works in the the vast majority of poor areas, but not so much where people earn a decent wage and have an education slightly above Gender Studies expressed through dance.

The main two policies of the SNP are independence and taxing anyone who is paid higher than the vast majority of their voters more, again, and again, and again, ad infinitum. At the same time as taxing hard working folk to death denying them any of the perks the lazy seem to feel more than entitled to. Having lived and worked within the Norwegian Tax system for the last 11 years, and Norway is supposedly a shining beacon for Scotland, a country to emulate, the SNP fall down here massively. But the SNP have no intention of ever following the Norwegian/Scandinavian Model, the SNP need greedy, lazy and jealous voters to keep them in power, and the SNP are loathed to ever give that up.

Ive been born and bred on the SNP. My fathers side where heavily involved in canvasing (or whatever its called) throughout my childhood. But for me its like having the scales lifted from my eyes.

We vote for clowns in Scotland and are surprised we live in a circus.

I know your politics, weve been down this road before.

The last 3 pre election polls in Scotland have been on the money so the wank theory isnt really warranted in this instance.

I skipped reading most of your post because it seemed self indulgent and i couldnt really be bothered with your usual portrayal of the typical scot as being a workshy dole bum blah blah analysis.I will concur to your scrutiny of the Snp tax policies which are unfair but as ive said many times im not a fan of the Snp....just a vehicle to independence.

If the 'left' needs a cluster feck like this to gain votes, then its not Labours actual policies that folk are voting for then my point remains. ;)

Lets not forget May utterly balls up Brexit and the Reds gained more seats that ever based on the claptrap Labour was touting.

Labour are lost.Theyre so busy trying to appeal to everyone theyve become a laughing stock!

Latest polls in Scotland predict labour to be all but wiped out in the next Holyrood elections with massive Snp gains and a slight gain for the tories on the  back of the unionist vote.

It would seem the Snp dont need to promote the independence vote, simpley pointing to Boris as an alternative is enough.

Im not overly concerned about whats going on politically in England, vote for a circus and you get clowns.

  6. Todays training

Am bike 40 mins 20 warm up 20 mins alt 30 seconds hard 1 minute about 30% of effort.

    Afternoon workout

Jump lunges as many as possible and plyo push ups as many as possible for 25 minutes.Going from one to the other, resting as little as possible. When i was breathing out my arse, which was pretty much the whole workout i took time to recover a little.

    Challenging workout that one

  7. Todays training

    07.30 40 minute jog.

Ive never enjoyed running and i never will but im starting to see a noticable improvement in my cardio fitness.

    Afternoon workout

Circuit of dumbell chest press dumbell bench step ups and V sit ups.150 reps on each as quickly as possible.

Method here is take a do 15 rep weight or whatever you fancy and do as many reps as poss on 1st exercise the go onto 2nd etc.Keep going round each exercise till you hit 150 on each.(10 rounds)

Record your time and beat it next time you do the workout.

This is a density type training that tests your bodys muscular endurance, metobolic capacity and your csrduo vascular system.

I tend to use a weight i can do 15 reps with but a challenging weight.

  8. If steves ok with this im going to post my routines every day.Anyone who fancies a go can,or if you need exercise alternatives to what im doing i'll do my best to help out.

    Today

Morning workout on an empty stomach.I hour on the exercise bike,20 minutes at an easy pace to warm up then go about 60% effort.

I was stopping every 5 minutes to do 10 dumbell thrusters the back on the bike.Great workout, gets the heart pumping and the thrusters engage more muscle fibres than just peddling on the bike.

Aftrnoon workout, about 3pm will be pistol squats, thats just 1 leg squats for as many reps as i can on each leg then straight on to bent over dumbell rows.I'll basically go till i blow rest for a minute or so and go again.

Im gauging about 12-15 rounds in 30-40 minutes.

Oi have a small routine that I try and do most nights, 15 or 20 mins max with kettlebells and bodyweight exercises. Short sharp intense sessions, so I don't get bored and still feel some benefits.

Thats a great way to look at it and it has been proven, a short, intense bout of exercise is more beneficial than longer drawn out routines.

  10. Havent been on here for a while but i remember there was a good few who trained regular so i thought id ask what they were doing at home to stay fit and keep themselves sane.

Ive been running most mornings and lifting in the afternoon.

Doing circuits kinda tabata/crossfit style, olympic lifts with some high intensity cardio too keep my heart rate cranked. Not really looking to have any goals just keep my fitness, strength and gains.

    What you guys up too?

Well this is what I was having a crack at today......

We had our first rescue refresher day under the new regs so we attempted to get it all done within the new rules. One guy is currently going through cs39 so was our example, it looks a proper faff and it was hard work. Our test set up was basically straight up with the anchor points relatively close to each other, no one was keen to traverse through the crown.

Would be good to get some examples of systems up for viewing/review....

I like the look of that system

Some Christmas reading for Mary Doll Kranky. I hope she studies it carefully:

In an important new paper, Sam Taylor explains how the SNP’s currency proposals overlook Scotland’s balance of payments...

Mark Carney has stated numerous times,

but it always seems to be a non news story,

that there is no reason why Scotland cant use its current sterling.

Baldbloke there are plenty of people like my father who have voted for Labour for generations but refused to back Corbyn, mostly because of the stance on Trident, who didnt vote in the GE simply because he refused to vote Snp or Greens.

Looking at the graphs the demographic that has seen the biggest turn is in the over 60's who once voted Labour but are now Snp.

There are 2 parties in Scotland now with a smattering of the greens, lib dems etc.

Holyrood is more diverse but id gamble in Labour losing a hellva lot more seats come next election.

What will be telli g is how those seats are divided amongst the tories and Snp

I somewhat agree. But if its a NO again do you think the knuckle dragging goons that are the SNP will finally shut it?

    Short answer...No

The Snps number one priority is independence,by any and all means.

They will still be banging in about it regardless of how many referendums they lose, not that id think the next referendum will be lost given the hatred of Boris and his cronnies up here in the north.

Baldbloke to answer your question posed to me some pages back id say pro indy/anti EU supporters in the Snp would be in a huge minority.

Most are massivley concerned about leaving the EU and are using this to curry votes from those less informed...
