  1. Hi. Sorry I hadn't checked this for a while. Send me an email if you could. Bit about yourself... [email protected] Cheers. Josh
  2. I'm looking for a self employed groundy a couple of days a week. Sometimes more. I'm based near hingham in Norfolk.
  3. Is there a way to gauge belt Tension is correct without a proper gauge. I have one but it's crap so ordered another but until that arrives I want to tension the belts as near to correct as possible. The chipper isn't chipping big wood very well so I'm guessing the belts are not the right tension. Cheers
  4. Groundsman needed beginning of next year. Couple of days a week. Need to have all relevant tickets and ppe and a ground saw. Message me for details
  5. You would think. It's really hard to find someone.
  6. Looking for subcontractors for Norfolk. I'm a one man band based in Wymondham. Mainly groundsman work but would need aerial rescue ticket. Just want someone to turn up on time and not use their phone all day ?
  7. To be honest I didn't check. I just knew that the rayco sjr use that engine and ignition
  8. The wires coming off the engine are. Green, purple, red, blue, yellow and white. The ignition has tabs labled- M, A, R, B, S and G. The ignition switch is for a rayco stump grinder. Just trying to find what colour wire goes where. I also put the - from battery onto the engine mount bolt and the + onto the starter solenoid. Is that right?
  9. I'm going there later today so will take some. Thanks for the help.
  10. Yeah kind of. I've got the loom coming off the engine 5 or 6 wires? I bought a kohler key ignition for it and was going to just use the solenoid thing (I think that's what it is) off the old engine
  11. Step by step of how to wire it up really. As I say I haven't got a clue
  12. I've fitted a kohler command to my old vermeer 186 stump grinder. Now just need to wire it up. I'm hopeless with wiring. Any help would be great
  13. I'm converting my ford ranger into a tipper. ive found a good ram and pump (picture on the left) but i cant find the brackets for the ram anywhere. the bloke i work for has a tipper and the brackets have grease nipples which would be handy. i'm guessing this ram sits in a kind of cup with arms then these arms go into 2x brackets like the pic on the right. any help with where to get all the brackets would be great.
  14. Looking for first chipper. Timberwolf 125 or 150 or small jensen. If you know of anything let me know. Cheers.
  15. Cheers for the advice, will get in touch with them.
  16. Ive always worked for other people so never had to deal with this side of the job. i'm going to be working for two neighbouring customers on their boundary. i checked for tpos on the council website and it came up tith two protected cedars and one protected scots pine. where i am confused is there are three western red cedars and there are two scots pines. how do i know which ones have a tpo and which ones don't. the councils web page is ****. is there any other info online with more detail. thanks.
  17. I'm going to buy my first chipper this year and have decided the TW125 would suit me most. i'm just wondering if there are certain years that weren't so good and what price i would realistically be looking at. Also what hrs these machines will do? cheers Josh.
  18. whens the best time to re-pollard a lime. January?
  19. just started climbing and loving it. iv'e done a couple of dismantles and when it comes time to take down the stem i'm just using a running bowline to cinch off my climbing line then another above that, which is fine when coming down and there's no limbs to pass. I like to use the same system when spiking up but would like a quicker system that i don't having to tie/untie using rings or something. any help would be appreciated.
  20. Hi, I'm looking for work around Norfolk. I'm based in Wymondham near Norwich but willing to travel up to 40mins. I have cs30/31/38/chipper ticket/trailer license and will be doing cs39 as soon as i have time. I work for one company on Wednesday but would love to do more and start climbing. Cheers, Josh.
  21. Hi all, I'm looking for groundie work in the Norfolk area. I'm 26 and self employed. I currently sub for a couple of companies but i want to fill up the rest of my week. I have cs30/31, chipper ticket, trailer license and i'm doing aerial rescue next month with Andy Campbell. If anybody's got any work or needs an extra man on weekends give me a shout. Cheers, Josh.
  22. Nope didn't know that. its only flooding when started. i checked valve height,spring... all ok and can't see any dirt. think its fooked. what's a good after market carb?
  23. i have fitted a new pot and piston on my ms360. i also took off the carb, took it apart and soaked it in cleaner. I then blasted it through with compressed air. I fitted new gaskets, needle valve... i put it back on the saw and now it keeps flooding. maybe needle valve seat worn? it will start if i keep the throttle on full but dies if you let off. i set the carb one turn out on L/H. any help would be great
  24. i'm under no illusion that this will instantly make me a professional over night but as i've been doing tree felling and gardening for about 4 years now and i have a good understanding of pruning and types of trees... so it would be mainly climbing/dismantaling trees i'm looking to learn.
  25. i would ideally like to faze out the property maintenance if i can get enough work and go full time tree surgeon so doing the course would be beneficial but i recon i coud save a bit if i didn't do all the tickets
