Funny you say about water Incress, the machine I'm getting had to have a new loom on it as he pressure washed it to much. Seems pretty well cared for. I'll keep everyone posted on here thanks

Since I posted last I've understood that back up is quite a important issue with these machines. Would you say that is a fair price cannon access?

I'm currently in talks with a salemen at spiderlifts distributed for cmc, they have a 2009 1000hrs 19m has a outreach of nearly 12 m with one in the basket not a lot less with two, they looking for £28 k +vat. Also can't seem to find much out about these either other then on there website. The cela looks a brilliant machine, have you got number for the distributer kimtree? Or a web address? That's a lovely machine. Yeah unfortunately that's way out the box on the budget. Why should they be so worn out? I haven't had a lot of experience with them yet, but do they really get that abused? I know it's a different ball game but I've had a lot of experience with diggers which do get abused and yeah anything at 3000 hrs or over is knackered, but if there's one for sale with like 500/600 hrs on it you would hope it should be pretty good still no?? What made you choose this over something like a hinowa?

Just looked at a video of the cela, looks impressive. Odd how I haven't seen anything on them before. Would one of these come in my budget, they look a bit advanced and new for my pocket!

Hi all, I'm hoping to buy a 19m spider lift soon around the £25k price range. From the research I've done the cmc, and the hinowa machines look the best to me for that money. Has anyone had experience in using both machines, or which one people would go for? Cheers

I just completed my ipaf ticket last Friday, there was definitely no talk of roping yourself outside of the basket, only clipping yourself inside! I can see your point tho. But like you say you do a lot of property maintenance? Such as painting windows, what exactly do you tie onto? Gutter brackets won't hold you taking out tiles and tie round batterns must be very dodgy, the only thing I could think of is a roof joist or somthing where you would have to cut through the felt which would be very impractical. Also if you have tied yourself to somthing, the basket falls leaving you hanging for instance, how do you lower yourself down? Unless there's a special climbers outfit system i guess. Perhaps using the machine working at 90% of its limits might be a safer option! as said previously have someone with you on the deck observing, making sure the cherry picker isn't moving on its pads etc. I can't see this working on taking trees down either? But it's still not a good thought going over in one!

Very true Stefan. Haven't been on here for a few days, passed my ipaf test last Friday so now looking into buying one, also been looking into advertising etc, so hopefully will be starting the ball rolling soon!

Thanks for your reply and vote of confidence. Pricing is also something I need to look at very carefully obviously as I don't want to price myself out of the market, but also a good living and being able to pay for itself etc is what I need also. Has anyone had to rent out one of these with a driver before? What would people roughly be willing to pay for this service? I've rung similar people and the way they price varies from hourly/ half day/ day plus miles, some say there day starts from when they leave there home 8hrs hire then overtime for anything after, the ones I have contacted have been from £350/400 a day for spider lifts some truck mounted have been cheaper, I hired a 7.5 ton mounted one think it was bronto 20m 2 yrs ago, and they was £300 for the day "without driver". I was thinking I could it cheaper with me operating it around £300 mark? Any thoughts people? Thanks vincent

Also Stefan, I agree these are the areas I think I want to aim for also, I've just looked at your website, and I guess you was in a similar position at some point? What you specialise in is quite niche aswell? How did you go about drumming up business, or was it a gradual thing with other work included? Thanks vincent
