  1. Thanks Eddie for the great advice its going to be a learning curve but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  2. Suddenly realise how much I have to learn about this subject! Anyway was thinking about starting small and getting a TB016 right price range about 8k and hopefully easier to learn in than a bigger machine. So it's not just a case of buying a rotor and grab and plugging in, I am based in Ireland but its likely I would purchase a machine and rotor and grab in UK so not sure how I would go about getting it all fitted up. If anyone knows of any decent dealers where I could checkout a machine that would be great. Thanks everyone for all the advice so far.
  3. Thinking of getting a 1.5ton Digger and use for tree work etc. No experience of one so what I'm not sure of is, for use with a rotor and grab does the digger have to be piped especially? And are the rotor and grab separate bits of kit? Any help please.
  4. After much debate and questions on the forum we finally got our tracked wood chipper a Jensen 530t. We have been getting to grips with it over the last few weeks it is turning into an invaluable piece of kit. We thought it might work for us but we didn't realise how good it would be. We bought the chipper from Arborcut who were so helpful and had a brilliant customer service. It's already started earning it's money going places our other vehicles just can't. So big thanks to Arborcut and all on the forum for all the help.
  5. Owner managers take all the financial risks its not much to ask for a new truck a big investment to be respected and looked after for as long as possible.
  6. Thanks for the advice its appreciated.
  7. Just recently purchased a land rover 130 with a aluminium chip body. The side of the chip box is ideal for advertising so I want to put our company logo and details on the side. Not sure if I can spray a background or apply some kind of vinyl wrap. Not sure what the most practical option is, I want a solution that won't get scratched off after a few weeks. Any advice please? What did other owners do?
  8. Thanks all for the advice.
  9. I'm thinking I might go with the 9 x 5 indespension plant trailer 2700kg. I think the Jensen weighs about 1200kg so I should be okay. Its all a bit of a learning curve.
  10. I think it would be good to have the choice to do that.
  11. Cheers Paul. Would you know if it is good to have the chipper fitting snugly on a 8x4 trailer or doesn't the size really matter if your strapping it down.
  12. I have the choice of either a Ifor Wiliams GX84 or a Indespension 9x5 plant trailer. I have to get something for a Jensen 530T we are getting our first tracked chipper. Is there any advantage or disadvantage in the slight size difference and individual ramps or the full mesh back ramp? Feel like I might be missing something obvious, any help appreciated.
  13. Thanks Charles, I think the 530 could be to small for our needs but pm me your details and I'll give you a call on monday.
  14. Thanks hodge, I'm wondering if I understand the concept of vari track fully. It allows you to access and work on uneven surfaces because you can widen the tracks increasing stability?
  15. Well thanks lads lots of different opinions and great advice. I need to get a tracked machine reasonably quickly but I don't have the budget for new so the TW and 530 seem to come up quite regularily for sale. That could be good or bad I suppose anyway. I'm planning on towing with a 130 landrover so don't want to go to a nine inch machine as might be to heavy with chip and all. Had tow alongs all greenmech and that was limiting, but also been used to mog and 10inch pto. So concerned that the six inch might struggle with some aspects of our work. As always want the world on a plate with a limited budget. My next question to you all is vari track is it really essentail??
  16. Thanks, but I have the choice of a either the TW190 or the Jensen 530 and not sure which is best. Are they both good machine or should I avoid one over the other?
  17. I'm considering a tracked chipper but I have no experience of one, so apart from the obvious size of log they can take what would be the pros and cons of these machines. Any advice would be great.
  18. Thanks all for the advice and pointing me in the right direction much appreciated!
  19. Cheers thanks. Its good to know the tipping trailer copes okay with your chipper and the stump grinder, because as you say a tipping trailer is so handy I was thinking I could avoid getting both and just use the tipping trailer to save on costs.
  20. Would anyone know if I can use a tipping trailer for the daily transporting of a tracked chipper like a T/W190TR or similar or even something smaller like a Jensen 530T. So would a tipping trailer do the job well or do I need to get a plant trailer? Any advice please, thanks.
  21. Nice set up. Cheers.
  22. Cheers Hodge, was thinking of going for a single cab with tool box in the chipper body might be limited for tool storage though. Thanks for anti roll bar advice wouldn't have considered that.
  23. Thanks, we are rural based so 75% of our work would be off road or dodgy country roads which often is as good as being off road. Try to find the all singing all dancing set up which I know is asking a lot.
  24. I'm not too worried about the chip capacity we can deal with the excess chip what I'm not sure of is the towing capability of the 130 with this set up on a daily basis would it be asking too much of it?
