    here is a picture of the oak log we milled today

    How long is the log I might be interested depending on time you need to seal ends next time you have time

    The first log was 1meter by 2.5meters and it was taking 11 minutes each cut

    This is the sycamore log we milled with the second oak

    Stihl 084 with a 5ft and a 4ft I am think about getting a ms 880 but it depends on how much work I get for it

    The cracks are only one to two inches long their was a large fault dead centre but that is natural on big old trees . We cut the middle board four inches thick but found this so heavy we could not move it this had to be cut down the middle and then in half again .

    Ordered new chains from chainsawbars.co.UK yesterday looking forward to trying them out have layed claim to another oak log and a sycamore log and going to see two more tomorrow evening

    We did but by the time we had moved and stacked them most off it was on us so we will have to do them again today .what a machine it was a great day milling got my eyes on some more logs now

    When I bought it it came with a 60in cannon super bar and 40in woodland pro also a auxiliary oiler I have had the chains sharpen I was wanting a new chain for them both but my local shop can't get it any ideas on where to find them ?

    Hi my name is Mark I live in county Durham I am a x tree surgeon turned gardener . Bought a Alaskan mill and 084 form ebay I have found this forum really useful solved a lot of problems never done any milling before. First chance for me to use it this Sunday I have a 3meter by 1meter oak trunk to mill I can not wait
