Nice one thanksUh oh! Bearing is US, quite rare too. If you are lucky, two bearings and job is a good un! Hopefully shaft is okay, blades and shear bars need checking too. Call GreenMech or take it to your local GM dealer. -
Can anyone help??
Bought a cs100 few weeks back, tried chipping some bay this weekend and it near enough blocked instantly.
Thought I'd take a look at the blades, spun the drum and the bearings have shat themselves also there is way too much play with the drum.
Can anyone recommend what needs replacing and if it is an easy fix?
Cheers -

I have odd jobs here and there that I usually require a groundie for. [email protected] buzz me an email with your number and if anything comes up I’ll give you a call
Cheers,

A perfect response, many people in the uk climb large awkward trees often l,depending where in the country you live, if you can easily spike up a tree from the base every time your not doing many big trees or your not bothered about how long it takes. It is all dependant on what kind of work you do, if your doing silver birches and conifers in your neighbours back garden you don't need a ascender, if your doing a 100ft leggy Ash tree that is over a house, greenhouse and wires then an ascender system would be very welcome
You forgot to add... "covered in ivy"

SRT is easy, running bowline with a long tail or retrieval rope attached to the splice?
Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
Cool nice and simple as well 👍🏼
-
Can't you just tie off your srt anchor with a bowline and long tail, then descend to your next cut and pull the tail down, re choke it and away you go
Yeah this was my first thought.
Just for longer descents you don't want to have to tie a running bowline with a massive tail. Does the alpine butterfly var bite onto a stem?
Trying to get my head around DDRT options.
-
Been searching for retrievable spar anchors everywhere. Primarily for when snatching down timber.
I climb both SRT and DDRT so as many options as possible welcomed.
Would appreciate pics/links!
Cheers

Hi Liam.
Hope your well son.
I'm currently doing my Level 4 with Treelife and gone from a l3 to l4. If you want the honest truth...........it is sooooooo much work. More than I anticipated but I can't say if it's worth it yet as I'm still studying but what iv taken from the course has been invaluable. I would just recommend a course with a class session as I would be utterly lost without it. If you want info or ask any questions, private message me and I'll help as best as I can.

Hey man cheers for getting in touch, good to hear from you again also good, what about your end??
Yeah everyone seems to be saying the same in regards to the work load.
I'm looking at doing the Merristwood course which is 1 day a week and would give me access to their library etc.
Cheers mate, best of luck with it.

Great advice thanks a lot!
Exactly why I've recently joined this to hear from guys such as yourself.
Much appreciated Gary

How hard are you prepared to work and how much time are you prepared to devote to it? It's all do-able.
Join the Arb assoc to assess all the journals, lots of stuff on the ISA website too.
I'm a full time climber but looking to drop down to 4 days a week freeing up 3 days a week as I have no real major commitments.
Sweet thanks will do!

I find if I put the bottom strap of my pantin (foot ascender) slightly on my heel then spikes on as normal it works great. Don't even notice it!

Hi guys, currently considering taking on the Lvl 4 within the near future. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any (affordable) books or recommend any reliable websites and online reports?
Just looking to brush up my knowledge from Lvl 3 - on a side note has anyone made the jump from Lvl 3 to 4? How different would you say it is??
Cheers.

Oz bro get yourself out there.. easy to get a visa and good money if you've got the skills!
You can do 3 months regional work to attain a second year visa as well. Arb work will count as regional so long as you're out in the sticks a bit.
I went when I was 19 and wish I never came back aha.
Good luck man!
