  1. Larch softwood. Seasoned & dry. Cut on a processor - 10" / 25cm. Lots of 1 cubic metre vented bags & lots of loose firewood, loaded per cubic metre bucket. £50 per cube. Further reductions on decent volumes 07919037225 Cambridge
  2. Im cutting European Larch to 25mmx150mm boards. These are then air-dried - sticked, stacked and strapped. Boards are then planed - PAR on a moulder However, Im getting inconsistent results in the machine. The boards can only be planed to 140mm either side (if lucky). was hoping for 144mm at least... this is because of Shrinkage... However, should i be cutting wider boards. ie. does 150mm mean 150mm when wet or when dry? Bad drying technique? Bad cutting on the saw? Larch particularly volatile? etc? Im sure we are getting accurate green/wet boards to start with. thanks
  3. 1 cubic metre bags of Larch firewood, processor cut to 10" / 25cm length. From £55-£45 depending on quantity. Crane delivered. Unlimited quantity (within reason!) Based in Cambridge. Mix it in to stock or sell as a stand alone product... 07919037225 NewmanFarms.co.uk
  4. Hi, I'm cutting lots of larch boards on a bandsaw mill at the moment Feels very hard work brushing down every board by hand Trying to make process quicker/ more efficient Any tips to make the removing of wet gummy sawdust quicker? How would the bigger mills overcome this before stacking? Thanks in advance
  5. Hi, Looking please, for advice on milling bent logs - to take out the bend I.e best first cut? bend facing upwards or not... Second cut etc Resulting in hopefully straight boards... !? Thanks in advance
  6. hi, thanks for reply. i am based near cambridge. but flexible for the right course to bring me up to speed. i have emailed above & waiting their reply. also, had a positive from daltonsWadkin so they could do something - two day course with some paperwork... thanks for advice
  7. Hi, Thinking about buying a planer moulder to add value to my sawn products Will buy old, but decent second hand machine Was wondering if anyone had heard of any training / courses that I could attend to get Competent with moulding ??? Maybe a bit of a long shot Have had a good Google...
  8. Thanks for the tips. Will give the washing up liquid a go, diluted with water. Just finding it a slow process as the whole saw gets clogged, so the sawdust doesn't make it to the extraction. Hopefully, not using as much water - and a little washing up liquid the dust makes it through and less sawdust will be on the sawn timber... !?
  9. Hi, I am milling larch boards on a bandsaw mill. I'm currently using water as the lubrication, is this correct or are others better? The timber is problematic with wet sawdust and takes a long time to clean - brushing off and air hosing before stacking. Any advice to get around these problems... Thanks in advance
  10. I was hoping to stack my cladding on 3 level pallets and then stack and sticker up from there. Would this work? As then I can strap them down and move them to where I wanted... Plastic conduits sound good. I take it that's the oval shape? As the round kind may all roll off... Or are you cutting modifying them? Great advice, thanks
  11. I have to stack some freshly cut European Larch Waney edge Cladding. What would be the best stickers to use? Species, how dry, width & height, spacing, height of boards! Any other relevent info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  12. Thanks... Will drop an email to him. Looking for a few contacts for future, not all being close as willing to absorb travel costs
