  1. I'm a buyer not a seller. I responded to a wooden board at the side of the road once which saif "Trailer load of logs £80". So I rang the mobile number and been a customer ever since.
  2. Contractor fined for worker?s 60ft tree fall | Media centre - HSE A tree surgeon dislocated his hip after falling more than 18 metres to the ground when the limb of a diseased tree he was working on gave way, a court heard today. Daniel Hunt, 40, from Lydney, also suffered cuts and bruising in the incident at Courtfield Drive, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, on 18 April 2013. The fall occurred as he helped to cut down a damaged chestnut tree that had shed another limb a few days earlier. HSE’s investigation found the risk assessment for the work was inadequate as it should have identified the need for a more suitable work platform. The work could have been undertaken from a larger platform, meaning that Mr Hunt would not have to had physically climb into the tree to cut it. Don't let insufficient paperwork land you in court and ruin your business reputation. Marisa - Safety Forward Ltd
  3. Pop a sweet itch rug on. Also pig oil is good. You can "manage" the issue by bringing in during the day. It should start to subside as we head towards winter.
  4. Good afternoon all. I'm in the process of putting together a risk management / assessors course for those arborists / tree surgeons / landscapers growing their business and thinking about CHAS accreditation. The main aim is to get arborists and landscapers in a position to understand the principals of the 5 steps to a quality risk assessment and produce a business winning document. What I need to know from this forum is whether you have experienced any knock backs from CHAS applications and why? I want to make sure I address all avenues because ultimately you are the people actually doing the job. On a separate subject / thread someone asked if you can inspect your own kit under LOLER (I can't find the thread now). Basically, the HSE stance is that LOLER checks should be "sufficiently independent and impartial". This allows a more objective inspection to be done. From experience, if you know another arborist / tree surgeon swap kits and inspect each others providing you are both trained to do so. Hope this helps.
