  1. Have an Efco MT 6500 that refuses to tick over. Will start on choke switch to half throttle but you have to be quick to catch it on power or it will just cut out.Can keep it running with the throttle only. H ave turned tick over screw right in but still will not tick over. Has had a new carb fitted and worked ok for a short time then went back to not ticking over at all. will only start and run with choke on hot or cold. Will not start when warmed up by just pulling the starter cord. This carb has limited turn on high and low jets. Saw has me beat. Any ideas.

  2. That just gave me a thought for a question for you guys. Im guessing some of you on here have been in the log trade for many years. What year comws to mind when I ask "What was your best log selling year?".

Weve only been going for about 4 years and this winter (2015/16) is probably our best in sales but we expected to do abit better especially when rhey were saying last autum that this wintwr was going to be the coldest in 50 year!!

2010 long winter lots of snow, mainly -10 and below, was freeze drying the green logs too. Brilliant winter for log sales.

  3. 570 is a cracking saw but heavy I had one and didn't have any issues with it until I dropped a large Sitka spruce on top of it. It had plenty of torque when felling hard wood. I found it a tough saw till the unfortunate accident. Would run with a 20" or a 24" bar and just done what it was made for.

  4. Hang on a minute, they are stopping you from displaying the logs by a quantifiable volume and asking you to do it by the load instead? Thats crazy!

Yup correct though the pick up is a fixed dimension it's the fact that each load may not be exactly the same, some may hold more or less and that's where the weights and measures are not happy.

    Totally totally nuts.

  5. Campmuir logs are in the boat now too. Can't specify our pick up load at 2cube or 4 cube load now has to be referred to as a half load or full load with a pic of each on the web site. Funny how its the traders that are being looked at closely and not the Gumtree fly by nights.

  6. I have pruned back eucalyptus and find it responds very well to it as regrowth is remarkable in quantity and vigour. I live down by Errol so not far from you. Not had a problem with frost damage on eucalyptus and would think shouldn't be a problem though you are in the snow zone compared to us down on the Carse.
