  1. Hello again Rik, Congratulations on a successful deal, sure is an interesting one. That bar and chain are indeed a bit "too new" for my collecting preferences. I think those are actually the current part numbers. As the others already mentioned, this is the latest 090 model. I don't think it will take much to have it running. The chain is 404, it can be seen on one of the links (upside down) in your picture. In your case that is a good thing since you will not have to change the sprocket. In case you still want to contact me, my email can be found under my profile details or I can can send you my cell number if you prefer. In any case, have fun with that monster Tom
  2. Hi Rik, A fellow member was kind enough to make me aware of your topic. I'm from the Netherlands too, and collect these old Stihl chainsaws as a hobby. I wouldn't really call myself knowledgeable in terms of mechanical work but I have worked on some 090(G)s and Contra-Lightnings. I think the other members have already given good advice but if you need any further hints let me know and maybe I can be of help. As a collector, the bar and chain you mentioned do indeed interest me a lot. I'm always on the lookout for long bars that use the old Stihl logos. Does the bar on this 090 have the log/sawtooth logo? And what is the length of it? Looking forward to hear more about this 090 also. It's a great find, especially if it's in pristine condition as you describe. Regards, Tom
  3. Hello bolla, I tried to contact you via email and private messaging about the bars you showed in this thread, but so far I was not succesful. In the hopes that you will see this post, I will ask again directly via the forum. I'm a collector of old Stihl chainsaws and have been after one of these bars for a long time. I was actually searching for a bar with part number 11090009264 but the one you showed also highly interests me (seems like it's direct successor). You mentioned you had several bars and that there is also some variety between them. Would there also be an 11090009264 between them? In any case, please contact me (my email is in my profile). I would like to discuss if there is a possibility that you could sell me one of those bars to put on my Contra-Lightning GS (see picures below). In my opinion this specific bar would complement the saw very well with the old style logo and it's length. It was also used in an old ad (4th picture) which is why I have been after it for so long.
