  1. Is this hawthorn? Blackthorn, or something else? thanks
  2. Hi I have this sometimes. I scrunch up LOTS of newspaper, maybe 10 sheets, then build several layers of kindling on top in a grid, with a small log on top of the kindling. Open all vents, light it and close the door. The wood burner will probably fill with smoke, and you may get a little smoke out the vent, but as soon as enough paper is burning and it generates enough heat, the heat will force up the chimney and switch direction of the air flow, then you can open the door a little if you need to give it some more air. Works every time for me, good luck!
  3. Here's a freshly cut face and also another one of the regrowth.
  4. Ha sure, but i'm in the midlands. You up this way at all?
  5. Just got the logs out my car, and they deffo have an ash likeness, and my first thoughts when i saw them was Ash. Never heard of Manna Ash though. Will look it up
  6. Here's a pic of the logs. Perhaps not so ash looking?
  7. Ahh i thought the logs look like ash, but then thought the regrowth didn't look like ash. Thanks
  8. Hi Can you help i.d. this tree please? Sorry the picture rotated Thanks
