Mitchel considering that you have been 'properly self employed' for one year surely you are one of these pop up businesses that are undercutting everybody??

A rather strange comment!
I have already stated my price was dependent on looking at the job in the flesh and how bad the drag actually was.
however to drop that tree at my stated price is totally feasible with the equipment we use.
I have been running a successful business for 15 years that provides a living and full time employment for five people and myself! So hey what do I know!!!

haha!! I agree with that mountain man. I'm sure that if I went to look at it I'd probably double my price.
"How much do you normally charge to do jobs? Surely you know how long it will take to do the job? What do you normaly charge per day for work like this? Add it up and that's yer price."
Agreed!!

I feel that the angle that the picture it has been taken from makes it look bigger than it is. The silver birch and copper beech/red maplily thing on its left both look like quite small trees so I was thinking its not quite as big as it might look in the picture.
but like you say if the drag is horrendous, it does add on a lot of time on.
would have to see it!
where I'm based the competition is pretty severe and has been for the last five/ten years and I genuinely believe you'd struggle to get over £1000 for this tree. But I guess you never know ay!

I'd need to see how far the drag was to be honest, always hard to price a job on a picture alone.
I can only see a shed and some stone walling, so dismantling the tree isn't by any means a tricky job. Brash off by twelve, timber and clear up in the afternoon. No more than one load of chip and the timber would fit on the 7.5 tonner. Fairly standard job for a days work up our way. But like I say, id have to see it in the flesh.

It looks like a good hard days work for three men. I'd probably charge £580 and be away in the day all being well.

if you are on the ground only, circa 60-70 pounds a day.
