  1. just to make you aware 9 vans broken into in our local village the other night Neath/Swansea area, all vans targeted were carrying tools, mates van got done over at around 20.30 in the evening !! he's a carpenter and lost £3000's worth of kit just before xmas ! so keep on your toes chaps !

  2. well after doing my tickets in May I was starting to give up hope, last of the money I had I put towards the course cs30/cs31 £800, new chainsaw £600 and on top of that the cost of PPE it wasn't cheap, thank god my missus is working to pay mortgage as I've not had two pennies to rub together for months, then out of the blue after many phone calls, calling into local firms and leaving my details I got a call to start next week, it's only 2 or three days a week but it's a start, hopefully I can earn a bit of coin to get a few more tickets under my belt to better my chances in the future, to say i'm over the moon is an understatement, xmas is coming fast and been bit down worrying about the family and daughter, can't wait to start !!!!!!

  3. evening all, just been on the horticulture correspondence college website and been looking at the different courses they run, anyone done the HCC certificate in arboriculture ?? its been a long time since I was in school lol so was looking to start with something I could get my teeth into before trying something more advanced A.T.B sfa

  4. Don't worry too much I did mine a few months back and I was done pretty quick.. Just rember when you get a tree hung up don't walk behind the butt, don't walk about without putting the chain brake on etc... It's silly things but don't over think... One of the chaps I did it with did all of the above due too nerves but the assessor could see he was competent as when he did the above he asked him what are you doing wrong and he responded... Don't worry about being perfect just be confident in your ability

cheers mate i'm pretty confident but this is my first test I've done since my driving licence and that was many moons ago !!!!!

  5. The Assessor isn't there to catch you out so relax and talk him through what you are going to do on each fell, that way, you get things in a clear order in your mind, then just do it, easy!

You should also remember that your trainer/instructor wouldn't let you do the assessment if you weren't up to it, good luck.

cheers mate, do they ask every question in the assessment criteria in order or do they select a few at random ??
