It’s getting to a point in the forest where a proper good, experienced felling man who can produce a decent amount of timber is worth min£15-£20 hour self employed. I know a few people paying £170-£200 a day

Basically forwarders aren’t built for the road although they do come out the factory with indicators and lights

Good evening
I've got the chance of an old norcar so went had a look tonight
Been lying a long time in a wood. It has an fmv 350 crane that I would mount
To the roof of my county and make a trailer out the back end.
The tyres are near bald and some through to the canvas in places, suspect electrical fault, pre cleaner is missing from air filter housing so possibly engine sitting full of water also plenty other faults here and there.
What would you say a fair price?
Thanks sid
£3k (not much more than scrap I’d say) -
How long is a piece of string? Price depends on ease of site, size of trees, hard or softwood, any sawlogs, estimated production.

Like Pirate says “FC love paperwork”. Providing you don’t do anything blatantly daft (getting caught domino’ing trees) you’ll be ok. There are very few that are experienced in contracting working for FC. They’re more interested in checking safety gear and tickets

Can you sell it to the Chipwood factory down your way. I can’t remember what they call it. If you’re stuck , send me a message and I’ll give you a call. I’m sure I could find it a home

I’ve got some firewood to move to collection point on a site clearance job near Liverpool. Are there or does anyone know of anyone with a tractor and forwarding trailer for hire? I think it will be 1-2 days work.
Thanks

MUST have own saw and PPE. Wage will depend on experience and productivity. Will be on a S/E basis. MUST have chainsaw and First Aid certificates (FISA if no other courses have been taken in last 5 years). Initially approx 3 months work but may become permenant for the right person. Perfect candidate will have experience in all aspects of forestry work - felling,winching,harvesting/forwarding. I'd settle for a decent experienced tree feller to begin with though
