  1. Hi all, I would like to give splicing a go, I've got some Selma fid needles and whipping twine all ready to go! I've had a go one some Marlow boa but found it difficult to milk the last section into the mark. Seems to bunch up at the cross over!? I'm assuming a 9mm prussic cord isn't going to be the easiest to start on? So, What rope? Something supple and loosely braided I guess?? Stuff I can buy by the meter easily. Thanks
  2. Thank you, you can't beat a good old 6X, beer of choice for many years.
  3. Thank you, will give him a call in due course.
  4. Hi I've just joined this forum as I have been browsing it for a while and have found it very useful! My name is Stuart, I'm 26 and I live in swindon, wilts. I'm currently a self employed kitchen and bathroom fitter, who is looking to move into the arboricultural industry. I'm ex royal engineers also, so have a fair idea of what hard graft is! I am booked in to complete my cs30&31 in May and will do cs38&39 in the summer. I have worked with a friend who works for the local council on some private jobs, and I love it. I'm a big fan of climbing anyway so to me it just makes sense. Jeez this sounds like a blind date audition. Basically, once I've completed my cs30&31, I would be hoping that I could find a local (ish) company who would be looking for a volunteer to help out every now and then so i can gain some experience in the field, That's me, that's what I'm all about. Take it easy, I'm sure I'll be asking questions a plenty ( I will use the search first) Stuart.
