  1. Well im very glad to report they have agreed to supply all the bits including a new axle and will pay the labour invoice of the guy im getting to fit it all who lives 5 minutes away.So as many of you said...... nothing to fear. The guy sounded horrified and generally very apologetic. I guess thats the result you would expect from a quality dealer. Thank god i didnt go for a cheaper privately sold one. I think i'll be sleeping soundly tonight. Thanks guys for making me smile last night in this thread, i was pretty close to stressing out badly.
  2. good one, the fine time was on a hill in the rain on an A road. If only id had that on my i-pod
  3. Yeah, the guy seemed very proud of his business when showing me around the workshops and showrooms so im hoping he will be very helpful
  4. you can buy mine if you like lovely machine. very economical on tyres.
  5. My sister is a solicitor and seems to think so too. See look at you taking pity on a TW owner. Restores my faith in humanity.
  6. Ive seen before Ian that you Greenmech's poster boy. Maybe i should have heeded your preaching and gone green!
  7. Haha, Always the way, we always end up with the old car. Ive been getting grief from My girlfriend, she wanted to spend the chipper money on new tits, and now has obviously been proven right apparently because new tits wouldnt have broken down. To be honest i prefer playing with my chipper! So maybe her idea was valid after all.
  8. Thats what i was thinking too gensetsteve. It always worked on my parents when i was young.
  9. Ive towed it about 150 miles including collecting it. Im not a threatening type of guy anyway. I'll have to make a concious effort not to burst into tears and plead for them to fix it haha ;-)
  10. I do Steve, The original hours are on the receipt and i have a picture to send them of the hours counter now together with the pictures of the damage caused. So i hoping so. Im one of those people that if it can possibly go wrong its always with me. Hence i didnt go for a private sale. That would just have been temping fate to kick me in the nuts far too much.
  11. You know what Steve i agree with you completely. Im not naming any names i just wanted someone to tell me it'll be fine haha.
  12. 6 weeks ago i bought a reconditioned TW190DH from a well known dealer. To my absolute horror on Saturday the offside wheel decided to part company with the machine as the wheel bearing collapsed. Having had the machine recovered to a local workshop it seems that the spindle nut on the other side was finger tight and the inner race had collapsed too. The friction shoes and brake cables were brand new as fitted in the recon and one can only assume the spindle nuts were never torqued , so i wonder what recourse i have now that it needs 2 sets of bearings, two stub axles a set of friction linings and a brake drum. The machine came with a 30 day parts warranty which ended a fortnight ago but has only done 4 hours since the purchase. Any ideas? as a new business its giving me sleepless nights. Im going to make contact with the dealer tomorrow and being a pessimist im assuming they will quote the 30 day warranty.
