Thank you Doobin...Ive done a fair amount of winching but never new anything about tractors pto speeds etc ...so thanks:thumbup1: Also...Im going to start looking in to making the radio ear protectors you described to me a while ago....I will find the original post hopefully...but just wondered if you had any further advice or tips....or even if you had a pair you might want to sell ? I doubt you'll remember but I wanted them to fit my Husky helmet ...not sure if you advised a whole new helmet now...but I will be needing the visor ect ...? Anyway....my missus wants to watch eastenders so I better go now. Thanks
  2. Thank you all. I will contact AT Osborne tomorrow sometime ....thanks for the pointer. Brushcutter...that would be great if you could dig out that info ...will hopefully save a lot of time mate..thanks. I spoke to somebody i know just now and they said any tractor with 33 hp or above will run it ? as long the PTO runs at 550 ???? This is getting far too complicated now ...anybody know more on this ? Thank you all for your replies.
  3. Hello all....I just wondered if somebody could tell me what HP Tractor is needed to run a 6.5 tonne Fransgard winch ? Also on a slightly seperate note...how do you adjust the clutch on one as it is apparently slightly pulling when you pull it out ? Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks

The speed cutter...also a full timer obviously...was using a 560 xp ..3/8 with 15 inch bar...but unfortunately I didnt get round to asking about sprocket etc. I think I am going to go for the 3/8 on a 15 and try both sprocket sizes...only as a learning curve for my own knowledge...I have always just used the saw as they came..never even knew about the different sprockets and speeds etc...again..lack of knowledge Anyway...thank you all for your help...I will let you know how I get on. Thank you
  5. Ok....Im starting to get that forum feeling of information overload So...please give me your choice on sprocket for a 15 inch bar...3/8 ...for speed down the tree...I have a small softwood clearfell starting next week so perfect for me to give it a test.... Thanks
  6. So 7 pin 3/8 youre saying ? and thats if its fitted with a 15 inch bar ?
  7. Standard fitting...7T ? I am looking at getting this thing cutting as fast as possible...so when I go over to 3/8 what sprocket would you recommmend ?

I was up at the APF show speaking to one of the speed cutters up there and he advised the change for speed of cutting...was an interesting chat and he was a very knowledgeable bloke...so I thought I would give it go and see if it made a noticable difference down a tree thats all. ...and Thank you !!
  9. Hello all. I have a Husky 560 xp and want to change from my 325 18 inch bar and chain to a 15 inch 3/8 bar and chain. Could somebody please advise me as to what parts need changing to allow for this....I understand the sprocket willl need changing but somebody also mentioned that I have to change the clutch and drum etc ? Im not sure myself but I am also not so sure that is correct ? Please advise...thank you Daniel
