  1. My stihl blower br600 magnum was stolen 1:30am 22nd feb (this morning) from my shed in over Kellet, Carnforth. Neighbours dog barked and security light went on and my shed door was open but they didn't think to call me and was scared to go out.

Has repair to trigger handle and broken orange bit in grill near exhaust exit. Also two top straps had worn through.

    Scum bags.

  2. It also won't return to tickover. By itself. Sits quite high in the revs after throttle is released.

Check throttle linkage is closing fully on release of trigger, if not this check for air leaks. If air leak be careful as could run lean.

Saw sounds a good one once fixed

Don't think it's an air leak. All good on the plug colour side of things. I'll check the throttle linkage next time I have a minute. Used it today to cut a 30" stump really really low in a garden. And knackered the chain up so need to give it a little tlc!

  3. Easy enough to get hold of the throttle spring and fit. I had to do this on my 281xp which is basically the same model. Yes the compression is really high. I have to stand behind the saw with both my feet angled into the handle base and pull with my left hand. I have used this saw for about 5 years now and the compression has never gone down in that time.

I took both of the rear handle cover parts off both sides but couldn't see how a spring would fit? Does the fuel tank nee to be split?

  4. Just been given this saw with a 24"bar. Wouldn't run. Fresh fuel. A clean air fuel filter and a new spark plug and it fires and goes like the clappers at full throttle. Cuts great too.

There's no spring in the safety throttle lock so it's quite dangerous at the moment. Anyone changed these in this saw?

Also it is a killer to start. Compression on the pull kills my fingers with my bling on (joke) and I'm not a weak puller. It's the reason the chap gave me it, couldn't get it to pull over. Is this the norm?

It also won't return to tickover. By itself. Sits quite high in the revs after throttle is released.

I know it sounds like a munter, but it cuts and revs so sweetly, want it in as good a condition as I can get it as a back up.

  5. why not just get some signs made up for the car n trailer.

Thought of that but trailer gets put round back of house and car is used for other stuff too like my wife getting to work. Needs to be kept smart. A truck looks a bit more professional and is getting really necessary with all the work I do.

  6. 2001 ish diesel pick up wanted for work. Looking to spend about £1500 for a first truck. Is there anything out there? Have been using car and trailer but where I live I'd get awesome advertising if a truck was sign written up.
