  1. For what its worth, I had an identical problem withe same engine fitted to my camon c150. See thread below this. My engine oil exactly the same, when started loads of white smoke, fresh oil and carb flush and runs like a dream.
  2. Quick update. Fresh oil, carb flush and running like new. With chipping blade regrind, its like using new machine, worked all day yesterday and never missed a beat. Got off lightly with that one
  3. Just a thought, would I be restricted to a gx390 or could I use/fit a similar powered/larger briggs and Stratton and has anyone had an occasion to fit an alternative, cheers
  4. Thank you. Been down to local garden machinery store, £40 an hour !!!!! I might keep eye out for a recon unit to get me back working and take a look at mine over the winter period
  5. Appreciate it, thank you.
  6. Honda GX390 13HP, hadn't done that much work either, gutted
  7. ....that sort of seizure can cause damage to pot or rings " absolutely bang on. New plug and fresh fuel sorted the poor running. After 10mins work at home, the only thing I did do right, I suddenly disappeared in a white oily fog !!!!! guess the pot/rings were damaged as suggested, bummer. Anyone know of independent close to Rotherham who could sort before I cart it off to an established garden maintenance dealer. Cheers Steve
  8. ....... as suggested, start assembly removed, plug left out bit of gt85 sprayed down hole, socket used to turn crank and hey presto released the piston in cylinder. cranked only short movements to begin with and eventually freed up totally. engine started on second pull, need a bit of fresh fuel as a little hesitant under load to a point where it cut out, restarted and a little lumpy on tickover. Many thanks to TRACTORBOY 1 and especially GTR TOOL REPAIR for your help and assistance, Steve
  9. Thanks for replies gents, drum not jammed, removed plug retried and no change. I can move drum by hand got me baffled this one
  10. Morning all. I know not to everyones taste this machine. Not used it for 6 months come to start yesterday and pull start appears to be jammed, no give at all! Any suggestions guys? Easy fix? Cheers Steve
  11. Had one of these for a couple of years now and suits its purpose for my plot although I do agree with most of the comments. Pulled her out yesterday to fire up after 7 months laying dormant couldn't start as pull start appears to be locked and wont shift! Any suggestions guys?
