  1. Thanks folks... If I wasn't convinced before, I am now!! Hard Mounts it will be!!! I like a "TOIGHT" feeling saw!! lol Cheers. Finners
  2. Yeah tree_beard, I think I'll order the "hard" option if my supplier can,,, don't see why not!! Think I'll prefer the feel!! Cheers. Finners
  3. Arbortec Scafell chainsaw boots, green (class 1) | F R Jones and Son I have had mine for nearly two years! Love them! I don't do awfully much up the tree, but a bit! As I am used to wearing mountain boots, I found them fine for walking, etc, and fine for climbing trees. Very comfy with spikes! And as for the OutDry system... Yarrrr.... love it!! Nice dry feet!! Even use them when I go shooting!!! Finners. Life's full of up's & down's........Just keep it slowly both ways!! (Especially when you in the tree!!)
  4. Thx tree_beard..... I use a 16" bar a fair bit of the time for my smaller logging... and for the big stuff.... basically upto 50" beech, etc, the 25" bar gets used quite a lot! I have had my saw from new... It was a bargain.... I would've liked a bit bigger, but had to get as big as I could afford and this popped up with loads of chains and bits & bobs. Someone didn't realise quite how fit one has to be to use a 25" bar all day! lol Anyway... became mine & was brand new!! It Always felt "Floppy", even with the 16" bar.... Do you think i may find it better with the "Hard" mounts. (I'm a pretty tough cookie!), but just still don't want to be shaken to bits after a day of hard cutting! Well.... anymore than usual!!! lol Thx tree_beard
  5. Hi Folks, Newbee here! I went to replace my AV Mount on my 2010 Stihl MS441C to find out that there is two kits...1:-A standard "Soft" Kit and 2:- A "Hard" Kit. (For some reason, mainly used in US??) Does anyone use a hard kit here in the UK?? Or does anyone just know what the pro's & con's are between using the two?? I imagine the hard will stiffen the saw up... which I would like....But not if it is going to be significantly harder on me!!! I use my saw a LOT on Big hardwoods... Beech, Oak, Ash, etc... Yeah it's usually quite big stuff!!! Any advice very gratefully received! Thx. Finners.
