  1. Yeah I used a petzel on the course that was hire gear wasn't a huge fan this Willins is super comfy slightly less dexterous so it leaves you a little slower but i believe the comfort factor over a day or many days work will mean you can work for longer and harder in the long run. Ideally I would like another Willins similar to this one i think. At the moment though I am wrestling with taking a apart an old stihl 020t that I hope to repair once I can get the parts. Needs new casing pull cord/handle and a muffler box. Taken it apart but won't bother putting back till i have bits.
  2. To anyone down in Southeast Cornwall I had an exciting discovery, I am a new arborist looking to start up just slowly but surely building up my equipment and money for courses cs 38/39 currently doing before I can go into the business or find someone to go into work with. I discovered an old stihl 020t in my girlfriends step dad's shed he said i can use it pretty much but there is a slight problem it needs some work. Mainly some of the outer casing is damaged the pull cord is done and it needs a new muffler. So I got to work on it cleaning it up carbs etc.. put it back together it works horaay. However it is deafeningly loud so obviously I am going to need to fit new parts. Been scanning the interwebs but not had much luck so if anyone can get me a good deal on an old 020t for spares or repairs give me a shout. and I will reply on this forum.
  3. Hello to everyone thought I would introduce myself to the forum, My name is Josh recently starting up hoping to get into the Arborist Industry. I have recently done my cs 30/31 passed with Pip Tomkins instructing and I am now working towards my cs 39/39 with the same man. I hired the gear for the course bar my own chainsaw Stihl 210 nice little saw probably a bit amateur by some of the standards in here I am after a chin strap for my climbing helmet and I have a willins harness fairly old one but no fray damage to stitching and no exposure to dangerous chemicals but I do not know the entire history so i figure i should replace. I was wondering if you could recommend any good new harnesses for me to get I have my gator rope on order along with the hitch cord and strops but I am clueless when it comes to a good arborist harness on the market at the moment. Also if anyone knows anyone who wants to take on someone for work experience in the South West England St Austell Liskeard area let me know. I am good for cheap if nothing else
