Advice please, I have a gravity fed 20hp chipper that will eat large chunks of wet conifers or anything else but obviously no feed rollers,I’ve been approved finance on a new tw160 or GreenMech 130,will these machines pull in chunks of privet hedge? Conifer and hawthorn hedging with minimal chopping up? I’m not interested in feeding 5-6in poles threw it , more interested in what they will handle and not handle brash wise,I’ve watched most reviews on YouTube of the guys feeding twigs through them an seem to find myself shouting at them ,they walk up to the chipper with a arm full of branches an then feed them one at a time, my machine will handle a good pile of brash in one go if can fit down the hopper . Thanks

Just been trying to find the torque recommendations for my cheap chinese chipper blades it is basically the exact model as the GTM Professional 1300, but not having much luck - IT feels like its a fine line between bolts rattling loose and stripping the threads...judging by these comments i should be aiming for 60Nm or just under or? - any suggestions / reccomendations would be much appreciated.
Did mine at 60 as no one seems to no the correct torque, done a days chipping with no problems, we’ll see how easy they are to get out before I’m 100% happy

What is really really important is that the bolts don't come out, wreck blades and anvil.
I use a torque wrench every time, to JoBeau spec is 60Nm. I think Greenmech is a bit lower but 30Nm sounds a bit too low to me to be honest.
If the manufacturer says threadlock then I would, they will probably have corresponding lower torque to keep the bolts secure. The manufacturer of the drum said no recommend torque just as tight as pos and use thread lock,I’ve had this chipper 4-5 years now and just recently lost a bolt while on full power which smashed the blades, killed the drum, and made a mess of some of the casing around the drum so new drum new bolts and was going to try a different way of securing the blades as the way the manufacturer advised failed big time

Thread lock?! Never heard that one. I use a dab of copper grease on my Jo Beau's blade bolts, then just make sure they're tight enough not to work undone. I find a rattle gun helps a lot; it saves knuckles and retaining bolt head corners for removal, stop the gun just as the rattle comes on for tightening.
Thread lock is what two manufacturers have told me to use, my small chipper is a 20hp beast which is now running on a Titan beaver blade drum,Titan have told me thread lock is a must, rock machinery also state the same

I just replaced the blades on my Hyundai. Used a torque setting of 30.
Blades don’t last long so need to be easy to get on and off.Did you use any thread lock? I always have used it but been reading that it’s not needed

Anyone no the correct torque for blade bolts on a rock machinery- Titan beaver type chipper and also thread lock, use or not use ? Thanks

I like them for driving but it does annoy me getting electronically harassed for seat belts , wish you could turn that alarm off!
I just called in at scrap yard an got the bit that plugs in the belt , leave it in the passenger one next to drivers an click it in when in off road, fields, farm tracks ,tip site

Is that a proper business that's turning them out? As for £12 the cost of materials, machinery and the guys time he cannot make any money.
Or is it more of a cash in hand, beer tokens for an employed guy?
They don’t accept cash ? , I get my stump grinder teeth from him , half the price of northern arb for same thing, with the chipper blades he’ll want you to order a few setts to make it worthwhile

M500 blades are £225+vat for genuine. They are 500mm long though.
It’ll cost you a phone call to find out but I’m sure you’ll get a big saving , see post above

that's great for you but without more information we can't enjoy your joy of cheaper good blades
You need to speak to Glyn and he’ll probably need an old blade and the angles

CS 100 blades are £90 each at retail for reference.
Cs100 blades are very similar in size and shape to mine just holes are different, mine are approximately £12 each and I’ve had the heavy duty blades from a certain supplier for £90 each, same same ?

Cheers, I'll start looking for an engine?
I've more than had my money's worth out of my chipper but the engine has let it down by being really unreliable recently. I dont use it much, which is part of the problem, so I've been thinking of getting shot but I think I'll look properly into this.
Especially with a 50% power upgrade!
I had a loncin vtwin engine on it after the 13hp one packed up , didn’t last long so thought I’ll get a new Honda engine for it, cost nearly as much as the chipper ? but well worth it, it really is a beast now and would throw chip over the top of my truck,If you’ve got a use for a small chipper you’ll not regret it ?

Looks good, I might give my Hyundai another chance and do that!
Its basically the same machine so should work fine.
Did you have to change the drive wheel(s) to make it run at the correct speed, or did it just work ok?
Cheers
Just had To get a pulley for the engine, ordered one that looked the same size as on the 13hp engine with twin belt groves, same battery, same belts as original, only problem I had was it kept smashing blades but that’s sorted now,the price I pay for blades i don’t bother having them re sharpened .
