Planning a trip in June this year to climb Mount Whitney in the sierra Nevada and then have a couple of weeks in California seeing the sites would dearly love to see the coast redwoods and giant sequoias thinking of flying into LA driving to the mountain for the climb and then heading to San Francisco to fly out a few weeks later any sugestions on places to visit along the way.

Due to increased work load, we are requiring cutters and climbers, qualified PTS preferred, to work in Cornwall and Devon, mainly with Rail work and some private contracts. Good rates of pay, must be willing to work weekends and nights.

Sorry mate back axle cornish speak for the hydraulics of the tractor, pull spool lever in to engage the crane, no seperate pump and tank for the crane. The farmi 260 I used behind mine the pto just drove the fly wheel of the chipper and you had to drive the rollers of it from the hydraulics of the tractor so I couldnt use the crane and the rollers at the same time hence no good, 550zx has own tank and pump on chipper to drive the rollers as far as i'm aware not all farmi 260 do unless they have changed the newer ones
-
Hi John have used farmi 260 before good chipper bit light weight, if you are getting one to crane feed and the crane on your valtra is driven by the back axle of the tractor, make sure the chipper has its own hydraulic pump and tank else it will be crap every time you move the crane the rollers will stop I in the end bought a 550 zx schliesing to go behind our valtra cost more money, but the difference in build quality and performance was unbelievable.

Amazon has two used forest management table books, forestry commission handbooks for 15 quid at the moment, if they are the same as my book it will have all the general yield class curves and production class curves, and production forecasts for the major species so hopefully you could work the information out you needed from that cheers mate

Alright mate as you said tree growth rates vary depending on locations soil conditions and various other factors, but for general information you should find info you need in forest authority handbook 9 growing broadleaves for timber, forestry commission booklet no 16 forest management tables, and forestry commission booklet 39 forest mensuration handbook. I am not sure if all these books are still in print the ones I have are pretty old but you should be able to find them somewhere hope that is a help cheers

Hi Chris hope you are on the mend mate, I ended up in the infection isolation ward down here in Treliske Cornwall about eighteen months ago, similar circumstances not sure what it was to start with, and found out it was leptoslorosis weils disease from rats piss, cut my arm on a piece of hidden barbed wire on a rail job in Anglesey in the week tried cleaning it out before washed hands to stop it bleeding and they reckon some of the crap with rats piss dragged across it must of got in the cut. I started to feel like crap real bad flu by time got home on Friday night was like death warmed up, sat all day in bed, sun ambulance to hospital four days later after **** loads of antibiotics and blood tests was back home and a bout week later was back to work hopefully its not that mate and they have worked out what it is and you are back fighting fit soon all the best Dan:thumbup1:
