    I don't know what your capabilities are, but can you fabricate one from a piece of wire? I have made many linkages with "coat hanger wire" . Even if you don't have a pattern to go by, experiment from a photo on Google. Might get you buy until you receive a new one?

    First thing I would check is oil flow. Make sure pump is able to receive oil and then check discharge hose for oil to flow to bar. You also want to be sure worm gear is rotating pump. If all oil lines are open, remove pump and check for obstruction within pump. When I rebuild any chainsaw, I blow compressed air through all hoses--no more then 20 pounds of pressure and then only a slight blow. Too much could blow filter off. Good luck.

    Sorry--that's not the model I thought you had. I have worked on many Makita top handle chainsaws and I have never seen that model. Must not be a US model?

    Are you sure about the number? I have never heard of a Makita 230.
