  1. I'm maybe gonna be shot down in flames or stoned to death for asking this .... But does anybody use the folding silky's ? I just want something to keep in a rucksack or for use on bushcraft sessions at my activity centre .. No need for chainsaws !!

    Thanks

  2. Hi talismanfisher, I work down at the qe2 centre in manor farm, I spoke to Alex and co this morning about climbing in the park ! been given Dave's email to contact him, obviously as the park is relatively busy at times it would be a matter of finding a quieter area away from the dog walkers ! It's a real shame that insurance and liability has to come into the situation when this is being done for recreation !

  3. I'm hoping to catch up with the rangers in the country park where I work to see how this could work too, there's a couple of nice beeches that I want to climb ! I'm only a beginner just looking at getting my first rope - probably a yale xtc plus ?! and prussaks to help build up confidence ! I've not got any tickets in tree climbing but bat rock climbing tickets so not a real novice with ropes ! not got any insurance either but would be willing to sign a waiver to relieve any land owner etc.

  4. Hi

Just wondered if there are many people in Hampshire that go out rec climbing ? Looking at getting my first rope and gear, have done abit of tree climbing but would like to get out more ! So far climbed on blakes and prussak or footlock, but have played with hand ascenders and gri gri's on static climbing line !

    Cheers

  5. Hi

I'm too looking for my first rope for rec climbing! Done abit of tree climbing on rock climbing and abseiling ropes but now looking for a dedicated tree rope ... Have done abit of climbing with Goodleaf on the idle of wight and liked the yale xtc, seems to be a good hardwaring and affordable rope, but what length to go for ???? 25m and save abit of money for other toys, 37m seems middle of the road or 45m and some never gets used... I realise that a shorter rope would mean that you might have to change anchors when coming down, What do people recommend please .

    Thanks
