  1. Hi all. We run two FS490s at work, and both of them have threaded the three bolts holding the guards on. The guards have hardly been touched since purchase, as they're only used for brushcutting, so it seems to be from vibration. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is it just a bad batch of gearheads? Anyone got any solutions? I'm currently going to drill the holes and bolt them on with set screws.. bloody things.
  2. Hi all, I recently completed a degree in forestry, and I am trying to find work in the forestry/tree/landscaping industries. I have several tickets - CS30, chipper, brushcutter, ATV and first aid, but none of my own equipment, save the bare essentials (PPE). I have also carried out all kinds of operations- felling, hedge laying, coppicing, dead hedging, putting in drains, fencing, concreting, scrub clearance and so on. I currently do this on a voluntary basis for a local nature reserve. I have also written forestry plans and prescriptions. I would be willing to travel (have driving licence and transport) within reason, and I'd like to gain more experience, and learn on the job, whether thats paid or unpaid. If anyone is interested in offering me anything, or has any advice, please pm me. Thanks, Gareth.
