  1. I have Stihl Pro boots but they are deteriorating fast after 2 years, the reinforcement inside is broken and it is most difficult to get my heel past a mass of crumpled plastic which resides under the fabric lining! I'll have to buy new ones, so I'm reading these posts with great interest. Was just watching the Petzl video of the new zigzag mechanical prussik and the arborist in the footage was zipping around the canopy with the greatest of ease. Obviously he was wearing appropriate footwear, if I could only see the labels on his boots! What do folks like to use for limbwalking, as was demonstrated in the above video? Chainsaw boots don't seem to have much traction on narrow limbs. I've tried hiking boots but the Petzl Pantene strapped to my ankle digs in and is most uncomfortable. Is there a boot on the market that has a soft, gum rubber sort of sole that would be a good choice for limbwalking, but with sufficient anle protection to keep the pantene straps from digging in?
