  1. I’ve got a sprinter that’s on 277k miles and honestly compared to the one with 74k you can’t tell a difference.

supermarket ones can’t get hammered as they are autos and restricted to 60 so can’t be thrashed too hard.

id be more looking at drop lines, ball joints and the likes as they’ve probably be up and down kerbs harshly.

sprinters are reliable and parts are cheap. Just make sure it has got a service record. I’ve got 3 sprinters and never give much bother.

So for example if I were to be vat registered.
Day rate goes from 220 to 220 plus vat. (264).
I keep 44 quid in a different account for every day worked. (220 a week, 4000 for 3 months worked for VAT).

I keep receipts for the abundance of shit I buy that I don't really need and claim that against the 4,000 pound per 3 months. Say I spend 5000 in total on shit like diesel, tools for the job, consumables, big titted bitches in that 3 months. By rights I will be able to claim back 20 percent of the 5000, which is 1000.

So I would only need to give the VAT man 3,000 back out of the 4,000 earned off of increase in day rate with adding VAT on.

    Or am I missing something?

Will I need to pay another tax or anything on this money?

Also to add, I would be staying as sole trader.

yes this is correct. They can’t tax the vat as it has in theory been paid just you’ve been able to reclaim some of your vat expense to take the burden of vat off you.

just remember though that 20% only applies to adding on not taking off. Your 5000 with 20% off would be something like 833

Don't agree.  It costs me about £100 a month to leave it all to him.  I claim 20% of it back in VAT and then get another 20% off the remaining £80 through corporation tax.  So it costs me £64 a month for him to sort it all for me.  May be a bit more but it isn't a huge amount as I don't even notice it.  I charge more than that per hour so if I spent more than an hour a month dealing with it I would be out of pocket.  i invoice through quickbooks so all recorded. I upload my receipts through dext using the app and camera on my phone.  all included in the accountant's fees and all sent to them to sort automatically.  zero hassle.

So you’re basically wasting your money then. As quickbooks will record the vat for you. You’re already inputting the data into the system and quickbooks will work it all out automatically. It’s literally end of a vat quarter 2 clicks and it’s done. Hardly takes any more time and you’d save yourself a £100

  4. I had this issue with a forst in the end just traded it in for a diesel best decision ever.

but with my forst I know this will sound crazy but if you blow into the fuel tank and then quickly put the cap back on it would start fine when hot. If you didn’t it would just keep turning over and never start.

  5. Easiest thing to do would bolt down everything on the stands and just have a qr code ticket to pick up and take to the counter. Almost like ikea. Would take slightly longer to process but then the staff they have watching for theft could be put to better uses

  6. Will be the coil. I’ve got 2 550’s that are in all the time for new coils.

according to the dealer husqvarna have changed the part number for the coil so hopefully they have fixed the issues. One saw I’ve had has gone through 3 coils in 9 months.

amazing saws when working but getting tired of coil issues now.

  7. One thing to note is the 462 will be much better on fuel as the 500 does like a drink.

I didn’t notice much difference in terms of power for the 462 and 500 but stihls pricing makes everyone get the 500 it seems.

  8. I’ve had both 462 and 500. 500 is an amazing saw but wouldn’t want to be running it in forestry it’s way too thirsty. 462 isn’t much slower, slightly lighter but will do way more cutting to a tank than the 500.

Can’t comment on the 572 as with all husky’s they are never in stock.

  9. Is it a gear pump? Could the hose burst have lost so much oil the pump ran dry? When the pump aerates the oil so much that the foam comes out of the breather it often means air is being sucked in at the input shaft bearing

The pump replaced the air con pump so is ran off the aux belt. If it is constantly pumping air around would that mean it needs the whole system bleeding?
  10. Hi,

I’ve got a cpl (socage) a314. It recently had a hose blew and got this replaced by the local hydraulic place and a few other parts that needed changing but few weeks later after that it seems to have lost its power.

Sound like it’s really struggling then when I brought the machine down one day it spewed oil out the filler when it had bubbled in the tank.

Now have I got an air leak, wrong oil or is the pump on its way out? The pump when the pto is off does make a metal spinning sound sometimes so don’t know if clutch is gone for the pump. It’s running off a hilux if that makes a difference.

Hopefully someone can point the right direction before I have to send it to be fixed. Thanks Tom

  11. I run 2 of them one is 2 years old the other a month old. Really good brush cutters the 2 year old one had a gearbox straight away upon using it. But husky fixed that very quickly.

They are really good on fuel as well will do an extra 20 mins compared to a 535rxt which is surprising as the same size fuel tank.

I use mine more as a strimmer than a brush cutter but the balance xt harness is the best harness out there and will spread the weight of the machine lovely. Also my harness is not about 6 years old and no signs of giving up.

Only negative thing is the handle bar mount is weak and if dropped or knocked hard will snap the mount. I keep these as spares as
I do at least 1 a year. Could be me or just a weak part in the system.
