  1. Dont know about the 550 but ive got a new 560 and its poor revs like hell but has no torque low down power not as good as my old well used 57,but it is light and quite pretty a bit like a Dyson.

Really, i've just felled 130 tonnes of spruce and now I'm working my way through about 200 tonnes of beech, my 560XPG hasn't faltered once.... Forget about Shitl altogether (tin hat on lol)

  2. Don't know if its any use to you, but pet shops sell antlers as dog chews. Only 5 or 6 quid. Don't know if they'd be any good to you for what you need...

Cool, I'll take a look at that, been asked to make a coat rack so they'd need to have some aesthetic value. Thanks :thumbup1:

  3. I dunno mate , you can only go with what works out for you , sure I've had good service from oregon chains but Stihl aint let me down either . I'm firmly a husky man , I've a couple of Stihl saws but mainly husky . Fact is husky genuine chain broke ( half worn ) and I replaced with a Stihl and a few more since then . i said maybe just my luck .

Wasn't having a dig, each to their own :thumbup1::thumbup1:

  4. Hmmm, from my experience with this lumber measurement, you need a hoppus girth tape and a hoppus conversion book, if my memory serves me right a hoppus foot is 28% more than a cubic foot. The measurement allows for wastage at the mill, if trees were square we wouldn't need the measurement....
