Cheers Dizzer
that's a great help, we are a low impact timber extraction company and its a further service to which we can offer. as well as milling timber products for selling.

Are you treating the pine in any way or selling it as untreated?
do you sell it green or are you storing it for drying time first then selling it?
i am getting the pine for the cost of felling it and taking the mill able lengths and very close to the yard.
cheers

cracking looking mill and very easy to use, what do you put that out per day?

Hi folks
I am looking to go down the saw milling route to add another service to our business. i have a supply of large pine trees to start off with and i can order in 6.2m spruce logs, and will pick up hire days.
Pretty much looking to mill useable timber eg 6x2, 4x4 posts rails, boards etc
once timber is milled does it need to be dried for a period of time or can it be used with in week or so?????
larch has very good resistant properties, could anyone advise on any particular timber to get my hands on????
cheers

Hi folks
I have a stihl 064 to get working, i found play in the crank shaft on the clutch side, further looking in to it i found a metal shim between the magnesium casing and the bearing, this is loose and i assume this is supposed to be from in to the magnesium casing in the manufacturing process?? this i believe where the play in coming from, bearing seem fine and smooth.
long story short, looking for a another casing for my 064 or does anyone no that i can use a 066 casing as they are the same era and look very similar in the diagrams?
any help or thoughts would be good
cheers

yeah I understand pretty much depend on the size of the logs chipped etc but is there any one out there who chips for biomass who can give me a rough guide on the tonnage needed per ton of wood chip.

I understand size and volume etc all depend on what he will get back, but at the minute just looking for buyers of interest.

Hi all,
I rent a farm and I wish to plant trees and manage them for premium stems in the long run.
Question: if I plant a tree does the landlord own it? or have rights to it? or is it all mine?
in the long run I get these premium stems has the landlord to get a percentage of the profits?
