1. Hi, I'm looking for any opportunities to increase my ground saw and tree industry experience, meet good folks and find paid work. I have some experience with coppicing, cross-cutting and felling, as well as brash clearing and chipper work etc. I have my own transport, PPE and saw (although it is a Stihl 171, so quite low powered, I'm comfortable using larger saws if available). Being based in Bristol I'm looking for relatively consistent work in and around this area, though as long as I can sort out accommodation, I am willing to travel (I recently had a week in Milton Keynes). I'm preferably looking for saw work but if you're in need of extra hands for brash clearing let me know. I'll work hard to get the job done whether its sawing or other stuff. Post on here or PM me with any questions or jobs. Cheers, Jake

I'm also pretty new to the Arb world. Spent 8 years as a chef but got my CS30/31 tickets this time last year and have only really had any proper work from it (two jobs) last month! Part of that was working other jobs to pay for driving, which if you cant find much work near you, is a really necessary thing to get sorted. In fact, I wouldn't have been able to get the jobs I did without it! Also, working hard and throwing yourself into the job even without all the skill and experience, is probably the best way to get repeat work. Try and find someone you can do brash clearing and/or chipping etc with and start from there.
  5. Enthusiastic, hard working 26yr old looking for ground work in the Bristol (where I live) and surrounding area (Gloucester, Swindon, Taunton, South Wales etc), or further for multi day contracts. Willing to travel and have own transport, saw and PPE. Got my CS30 and 31 tickets and really need to get as much experience as I can. Looking to do my CS38 etc, when I have the funds. Anyone able to offer work or advise on the best places to try, please post here or message me. Any and all help appreciated. Cheers, Medium Jake

  11. Hey dude, well interested though based in Bristol and wont be driving until the beginning of December, bit of a ball ache getting up that way without wheels...anything likely to be about a bit before Christmas and after New Year? CS30/31, own kit (saw and PPE), some experience, enthusiastic, hard working, really want to learn more!

I have been dabbling in carving too, made a few simple things and have more plans in the wings.

More than anything I'm looking to network and communicate with people in the Bristol and surrounding area (going further afield when I'm mobile) in an attempt to find information, job prospects, like minded folks and people who like chainsaws. Any help/advise you can offer would be really appreciated and if you know of anyone who may be able to offer me work, forwarding this message, contact details or a brief introduction would be amazing:thumbup:.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and sorry about the jumbled order. Apparently I type too much!

  13.
Hey, just been looking through the jobs forum and noticed you may be looking for someone in the Southwest, a pretty broad area but I thought I'd give you a shout anyway. I'm a Bristol based, 26 year old ex-chef with CS30 and 31 tickets. Decided to entirely change my career, and have been interested in chainsaw based work (and working outside) for some time. I've only had a small amount of experience, which I'm well aware reduces my employability with some people, but I really want to learn more and gain more experience. My other current pitfall is that I'm not yet driving, though I'm currently in the process of sorting my life out in that respect and have my test at the beginning of December. To the more positive aspects, I'm enthusiastic, hard working, like to think I'm funny (but that ones not really for me to decide) and pretty gregarious (so I'm told). I'm game for felling, grounding for a climber, and anything else where I can practise the fine art of chainsaw-ery.

  14. Hi, looking for groundwork in the Bristol area. I have my CS30 and CS31 tickets, I work hard and am really interested to get some more experience under my belt. Currently not driving which I understand is a downside, but that is hopefully changing in the not too distant. Located in Easton so relatively central. Please let me know if anything might be available, even if its not until I have my own transport sorted. Cheers, Jake
