It's a tricky thing to do but worth the struggle for the morning views!! Indeed the new hennessys do have a side zip opening which make it easier, or the heavy duty tree boats have a tarp which is sweet but I'm a big fan of fighting my way into a bottom velcro opening of the hennessys...think it's just the satisfaction of getting in there and sorted. been looking into porterledges recently...anyone tried that?

Cheers guys, there's more to come. In response to Gibbon, Orchids are fascinating plants to study. There are eyelash vipers at slightly lower elevations but I've rarely seen them higher than head height. Palm vipers are more common higher up and are often found in more lofty arboreal places...

If it's just a fun climb I have no worries when it's raining. It takes a bit more friction to properly control descents, especially when using mechanical devices but as for the mess it's a good excuse for a kit rub down and clean up! Admittedly it's a different kettle of fish when using cutting tools in trees but on a rec climb I love getting down and dirty with the trees, rain or shine!
