Straight away I thought is your boss selling up? Does he have a client list? If you can get his client list you basically have a start for a business. If it is available then you should be offering money for client bank, equipment or his work number for yourself. Hopefully you can get something.
Yes you can claim for your truck from a year ago.

This company needs one more to start the UA5 course. Call Ian Morgans arb on 01785330377 . They are based in Stafford.

Mainly looking for Ground work on a self employed basis around Essex/Suffolk. Anything considered from a few days a week to full time. Although I have 17 years Climbing experience I am just looking for ground work. Im basically waiting for a UA5 course so If I can help you while I wait and earn some money too then send me a pm . If Pushed of course I can climb the odd day also.
Regards Paul

If you are coming in Green then your first 2 courses should be Emergency First Aid 1 day course about 70 quid and NPTC Chipper which is 200 ish with assessment. You will get groundwork with these tickets and they are 1 day each, quick, easy and fairly cheap.
See if you like the job then go on to Chainsaw cs30/31 . I say this because the chainsaw course is around 700 with assessment which is alot if you find out you hate the job .

Anywhere in the south east that provides this training? I see some up north but struggling to find any around my area. I will travel there if I have to but thought I would check on here for any info. Thanks in advance.

Not sure you would get carpel tunnel in such a short frame time unless you increased a problem that was already there. Are you in IT?
It is not white finger that takes a long time to develop 10 years +. Its either your hands are not used to the vibration of the saw or you have slight carpal tunnel already.
I had carpel tunnel through saws and the pc and I went private and had steroid injections, one on each wrist. That was about 10 years ago and i not had any problems since so its not the end of the world. Failing that a operation which takes 40 mins to an hour and can be done under GA will totally resolve CTS.
Copper bracers help alot if your in pain now.
Keeping your saw sharp is a must too Hope this helps

Just some info on wages around the country would be nice please . Im deciding whether its worth going the utility route. Companies pay 450/500+ a week for a decent Climber?
-
I used to work on the lines about 14 years ago was no such thing as ua1 etc back then . I noticed your requirement does not include ua1, 2 . My question is can you climb by lines without this certficate? Or is it just one person on site needs them to validate the team?

I sent you a pm

Some of the people on here just jump on anything you say its laughable . Since when is working at the weekends moonlighting and suddenly become a ***** lol? Picking up the phone and getting liabilty insurance is hard? I was agreeing with andy for the guy to stay employed.
-
What andy said. Work as employed but build up your own customers at the weekend and save up money for all the gear and machinery.
-
Any Climbers employed by these two or has been? I was interested to know what they pay for decent climbers?
-
As we are on the topic what are those husky 13hp grinders like? Would a secondhand one around the 2k mark be the best bang for buck?
-
As the title says, loads of experience. Would consider relocating if regular work i.e 3 days a week +.
Any Utility Groundwork ?
