  1. I have several 357xp saws but one I picked up off ebay a while ago has started playing up. It was working fine one minute then it started to over rev on idle. If you look at the picture attached there is something coming out of the engine that looks like a pipe should be attached to (it is the only 357xp I have that has this). If I put my finger over the end to block the hole it idles fine. Has anyone seen this before? Should I just mastic the hole up or is there a part that should fit on the end? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  3. Hi, replaced fuel lines, cleaned out carb, same problem??? There does seem to be liquid / fuel?? Coming out of the exhaust if that means anything? I'm at a loss.....
  4. Hi, its not a chainsaw but wasn't sure where else to post this ? Basically it starts after a bit of effort. It will run but only for 5 seconds or so. It will restart after choking again. It will keep running if I keep pressing the fuel bubble. Sounds like a fuel problem but don't really know where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. All I can say is thankyou!! You guys were spot on and with both problems. First saw needed a new throttle trigger (the end had broken off), part has been ordered. Second saw with running problems - air leak. Took the saw apart and the fix was simple. The impulse line had come off from the engine end. I presume this had happened due to the rear Av mount being totally buggered. I'm not very technically minded and really appreciated your help with this. I lost the will to live with my local (proffesional?) repair shops after sending saws for repair but getting them back the same with a bill aswell?? Thanks again. Avinit
  6. cheers guys, i'll check those out and let you know how I get on. one question though - why would the av mounts cause a problem ? (I am not very technical with these things)
  7. Hi I have 2 ms200t saws both with problems. On one you can get it to fire on throttle but when you click the stitch forward onto half throttle it wont stay there ? it moves straight forward to the on position. I have opened up the handle and had a good look around but cant see which bit is worn / faulty - has anyone else had this problem and know which part is the culprit ? Apart from that the saw runs fine. On my other one it has the complete opposite problem. Normally you would pull the cord on choke until it fires then move the trigger forward to half choke. But it doesn't fire once it keeps firing/running. Then flick onto half choke and it starts but then dies within a few seconds ?? Any ideas ?
