  1. I have a stock fencing business and use a chainsaw every day as you do, I use echos, best saws I have ever owned, I have a 357xp and a 346 xp and hardly ever use them. Ive got a cs 420 es at present and its a dream, the best starting saw ever and light weight. Ive run it over with my tracked dumper, lost it in a pond before now and it stops/starts 100's of times a day and never misses a beat! would recommend one

  2. I don't know why you guys are all whining about these calls! The customers, all be it difficult sometimes are your bread and butter! To them their job is the most important and it can be frustrating but you have realise this and be diplomatic. I get so frustrated when people wont answer their phone and go elsewhere in the end so someone else gets the work. We live in a want it now culture so if you don't want the phone ringing for work then go and work in Tesco's!

  3. Find an old trailed claas forager with its own engine! usually circa 100hp straight six ford engines complete with starter, rad, fuel tank all guages controls etc etc. By far the easiest way of doing it........engine is suited to the type of work, you dont want to be dicking around with taking old engines out of lorries etc..... ballache

  4. Good old tractors, weve got one on a straw chopper for the cattle, has 2-3 quadrants through it a day, goes from 0-flatout in about half a minute every morning and it goes like a dream! See yours has the later type front axle, shame you didnt put square wings on her though, ages them more with the old rounded ones.

  5. With regards to those knobbly remoulds on a transit, it didnt think you could get it through the mot as they are not proper van tyres. A friend of mine tried it with his cabstar and it failed so he had to swap them back to belted van tyres.

Also you get what you pay for with tyres, i had a cheap set once until the tread peeled off! get some decent ones and get double the mileage at least.

  6. I run exactly the same saw for fencing and i cannot fault it, it gets started and stopped all day 5 days a week, runs flat out for a minute or two then gets stopped and so on, which isnt ideal for any saw but its the nature of the job. The only problem I have had is the pull cord has snapped 4 times now which is a pain but otherwise would rate it in every way and have never touched it mechanically. Much cheaper than stihl and husky and I would say pound for pound a better saw, hope it improves for you! I wouldnt have any other saw now
