  1. That isn't the problem though.. I just dont want to be pulled in if it splits. The photos don't quite do the story justice but the tree is heavy enuf where it turns and it would be fairly torturous to go up any further I reckon. I was thinking about getting the rods out and lightening it off a bit from up there but I said I'd ask you guys first incase ye had some fantastically wonderfull idea's that I don't Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  4. I've a pine tree to fell tomorrow in a woodland and the objective is to not damage anything around it. My problem is its head leaning heavily enough and if felled from the ground it will do damage. So I was going to spike up the straight part of the stem and drop it off. It's not wide enough for a bore cut so I'm wondering what cut to use to avoid it splitting/barber chairing. ( I done the best I could with the photos.) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. I use a sling chocked around the tree with a caribiner and the climbing line through it and keep it under the flipline. Works for me Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
