We are based in Dumfries and have a regional office in Clitheroe. We are interviewing on Friday for our Yorkshire contract, but have positions available nationwide. We don't however use subcontractors as all the contacts we are involved in specify that we can not do so and pride ourselves on sticking to the letter of any contract we take on.

Hi mnf, We have full time work on NPG contract in your area and are interviewing on friday if your interested. You need to have UA1 at least to get on the contract but if you don't have it and tick all the other boxes we will put you through that at our training center in Clitheroe. You also need NPG authorisation and codes but again, we will organise that. PM me or give me a call on 07896730321 if you want more info, hope to hear from you soon dave

No worries tony, glad to help. Also, sorry omitted from last message Ua1+Ua2.1 are prerequisites to UA5 Risk Assessor/Surveyors course. Some DNO's allow you to survey without UA5 as long as your experience and CV tick their boxes. Your employer would arrange the induction for you, it may be worth getting in touch with a few in your area, if you were willing to put yourself through Ua1+first aid, they may be able to work something out with you from there. Prerequisite are Ua1+Ua2.1 and first aid. You also need to attend and pass an induction course before being able to work on the system. This can sometimes take a little while to arrange and unfortunately there is no nationally recognized qualification. There are several Distribution Network Operators around the country see this link for a map of which DNO's cover which areas. Hi tony, the position involves visiting sites that have been identified as a risk to the overhead line system in a recent resilience survey, reassessing the site, obtain permission for a removal where possible, if not suggesting alternatives to remove the hazard, arranging access etc details. There's quite a lot of paperwork and travel, and doesn't suit everyone. However it is regularly consistent work, the pay is OK and you are your own boss, operating almost completely independently, so it just depends what your looking for
