  1. My eggs are getting nicked fairly often also but they usaully leave the money inn the honesty box they just don't pay & take the eggs.

Saw an estate car with a big trailer one time pull away but didn't get number plate.

Well annoying, pretty sure its a few different locals doing it. I reckon 1 box in 10 gets nicked, only put one box out at a time now after had several boxes nicked @ once.

  2. In the strimmer thread loads saying they charge over 20 quid an hr etc I could never charge that much round here though I don't think.

Seems that there is massive variation it pay regionally & between different companies.

  3. Theese are the cheapest normal pots i've found

    Home

Wanted some with dimesions more like the MT38 here Stuewe & Sons - Mini-Treepots

But thinking now theese special tree pots two expensive to sell trees in & not get returned.

    Thoose Polypots on ebay also

Or here but they sell them by the 5000 for the 1 litre ones

Hadopots? for both commercial growers and the retail ?Grow your Own? kits throughout the UK

    Im going abit potty now.

  4. How about some hazel coppice with standards.

    No silver birch?

Some hardwood stands instead of all coppice?

Aslo conifers can be used as nurse trees

I would do some edible stuff like apple, crab apple, plum, damson, mullberry.

For a dense screen you need a hedge clipped i suppose, beech or hornbeam are good as keep leaves on all year...

Or maybe coppiced willow serveral rows thick?

In centre I reckon a circle of trees say oak or beech would look good. You Could have 4 avenues of trees leading to this with the coppice surrounding.

  5. Firewood isn't any better regulated now imo, than before. Most is still sold by the trailer load or pickup back load, no proper volume measurements & moisture varies etc.

That trailer load will be around £140 minimum now i'd guess if its say 2 cubic metres approx, still supposedly wood is competitive with other energy on price:

If you want bargin wood try source leylandi & unseasoned arb waste etc or even consider buying in some cordwood if your property has good access for articulated lorry.

  6. Im mixing leylandi chip 50 50 with organic horse manure for the garden atm.

Amazing compost full of worms :001_smile:

Horse manure is is alot easier to source than chip so often short the of chip.

Combining them breaks down well just one or the other takes ages to break down.
