    spiders

Hi easy-lift guy you're right the spiders aren't a problem I'm just really curious as to why i have so many. i spend much of my spare time walking many different landscapes and I have never see anything else like it and this isn't a one off thing it happens every year and they don't appear to decline in numbers all through the summer season. like I say just very curious Louise

    spiders

Hi David i hadn't thought about that there isn't that many flies no more then usual and I haven't had any horses or livestock on the land for a couple of years. Mind the field is very sheltered with woodland. Tinker I'm not sure if that is them I'll have a proper look next time I'm up at the land but I love the little cartoon thats want they do blink twice and jump out of the way, love it

    spiders

I have a field and it is covered in spiders, every step you take they are jumping out of your way, I would almost go as far to say an infestation, so why do I have so many spiders and they are all the same species, well they look the same small ish and black with white zigzags down their backs, can anyone explain this?
  4. Nice thread I finished planting my 800 christmas trees into pots, re potted last seasons 500 trees into bigger pots and I'm hoping some of them will be ready to sell this year, then I finished the first round of grass cutting did all the potting over the last two weekends I'm slightly knackered but i finished in time to have the Easter sunday and Monday off, nice one! Ready to go back to my day job for a rest
  5. Thanks GardenKit I didn't know that I'll keep that in mind when I get my next lawn mower but I'm hoping to go for a mini tractor or a sit on lawn mower, well you know a girl can dream Louise
  6. I have had a 550 mountfield self propelled model for over 5 years now and the poor thing has worked it ass off every summer keeping about an acre of grass cut each week, its only just starting to fall apart now but that's due to me only having it serviced once and not taking enough care of it, if I was going to buy another lawn mower than I would definitely look at another Mountfield.
  7. Thanks Guy Thats interesting to know, how much price wise is a ton of cordwood?
  8. sorry for my ignorance but what is corkwood?
  9. Spring is always weeks behind up in Northumberland, so if the tree are not budding yet do you think it will it be ok? even if I start and do about 10 to 20 trees then at least some of them can start to dry out over the summer, will people buy the timber while it is still wet?
  10. Hi When is the best time to coppice Alder or can it be done all the year round? Thanks Louise
