  4. I tried resting the chainsaw on the cut face but i got 2 inches down and i hit a stone, so as i cannot get a stum grinder around my back i was thinking of buying a long wood drill bit and drilling holes through the centre of the stump and try again with the chainsaw.
  5. I have dug out a large eucalyptus stump but i want to know what is the best way to cut the stump up as i went and bought a electric chainsaw but it hit a stone that was hidden inside the stump. So as i don't know the proper way to sharpen a chainsaw chain and i cannot afford to keep buying chains i was wondering what will be the best way to cut it up. Here is a link to what the stump was like when it was still in the ground. http://i39.tinypic.com/5y7wx2.jpg
  6. My missus will be removing the rocks before i use the axe. So does anyonr know where the best place is to buy a fiskars x27.
  7. I think the girth is 8 foot. I have asked someone about having the stump ground out but the tree has grown over rocks and there ain't enough access to get the machine around the back. So i have started to dig the stump out but the roots are quite thick so i thought a axe would be better.
  8. I had a eucalyptus tree cut down and now im trying to remove the stump but the blackspur axe i got is a load of rubbish so im hoping someone could recommend me a axe as i have heard that gransfors bruks are the best but it's to expensive for what i want it for.
  9. Someone my boyfriend knows used to cut tress down with someone so thought he would ask him as he may have needed the money as he is out of work at the moment. We are from pontypool south wales and we don't know any tree surgeons or anyone we asked.
  10. The person i asked wasn't a tree surgeon. This is the tree i want cutting down.
  11. I think i got a eucalyptus tree in my garden that i want cutting down so i had a quote from someone and they wanted £300 and thats not taking the tree away, so i was wondering if someone could give me a rough price how much i should be charged if a tree surgeon did the work with and without taking the tree away. The tree is about 40 foot high and the branches are about 10 foot long.
