The company: Landscape Planning Ltd is a consultancy provider of arboricultural services within the UK, specialising in the provision of expert and consultancy services within arboriculture, ecology, and landscape design within planning, insurance, land and asset management, aviation and utility sectors. We are continuing to grow and develop our client base within the utility sector, and therefore want to hear from qualified and competent utility surveyors. The job: Due to the nature of our business, roles will principally involve work associated with utility services; but they will also encompass all aspects of arboriculture. Specifically the successful applicant will have the following key responsibilities: • Undertaking utility line surveys, recommending necessary tree works. • Completing line audits of completed tree works. • Providing support to Group businesses in the form of vegetation and large scale tree surveys. The role will be based in Colchester, with extensive travel within the south-east of England. The person: The successful candidate will: • Be UA1 qualified. • Demonstrate previous relevant experience in utility surveys and audit. • Have excellent tree and plant ID and knowledge. • Be a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills. • Be a self-starter, with good time management, and the ability to act autonomously, using initiative. • Have a high standard of arboricultural skills and experience. • Adhere to and understand the importance of health & safety and risk assessment. • Have a full UK driving licence, and a willingness to travel. Ideally the candidate will also: • Hold BESC and Persons (OHL) certificates. • Have emergency first aid qualification, and NRSWA ticket. • UA2.1 and UA5 are not essential, but are preferred. • Have obtained a QCF Level 3 arboriculture qualification. • Have previous experience using digital data capture hardware such as PDAs and tablet computers. For all positions candidates will possess excellent tree and plant ID skills and knowledge; A full UK driving licence, and be prepared to undertake extensive travel; Candidates will have formal arboricultural qualifications and/or UA1, UA2.1 and UA5 certificates. Individuals will also be considered who may not have all the required utility arboriculture certificates, but do have an extensive arboricultural survey work experience, including a relevant formal arboricultural qualification.
