  2. Climber required tomorrow for work within Dumfries. Message me if available, Quals and rate. Can lead to other work in SW Scotland and Cumbria.
  3. Self employed Climber/Cutter required for work mainly within Carlisle, Gretna, Annan, Dumfries area.(must live within this area) Would suit someone who is looking to fill the week as would only be 2-3 days work per week. Odd time there'll be work within lake district or South lakes. Must have all necessary tools, equipment, PPE and able to drive. Contact 07825883958 for more info.
  4. Not me. We're only carrying out the tree work within the grounds. The moving of the trees is up to the head gardener, I'm just looking for suggestions for him. Yes, the best method is to use professional help/equipment etc, but as ever it's all about the size of the clients wallet!
  5. The location is inside an old victorian walled garden and access is an issue for a tree spade. I was thinking of using a mini digger to clear round the root ball and use a small manitou to then scoop up and move. Only moving a 100yds at best so would it be best to bag and string the root ball before moving or not?
  6. As the title suggests, what's the best method and machinery to move a number(4) of trees 100yds? 4 oak trees standing 20ft, 6-8" dia. Carlisle, Borders area.
  7. Person required to carry out commercial grass cutting duties in the North Cumbria area. Other work includes Tree Surgery duties so Chainsaw tickets would be an advantage. Immediate start. Pm if interested and for more details.

  9. An absolute pain to get out. A tighter fit than a brazilians swim trunks. Hoping they go back in a lot easier. I'll take some photos while I've got the chipper disassembled, for others reference.
  10. Just an update to say rather than pay Greenmech £210 for the anvil bar I got a local engineering firm to machine a new bar and sharpen the blades for a total of £120. Result.
  11. Well....managed to get the shear bars out and this is the bar that's been causing the problems. Now to buy a new one. £145!!
  12. This will be the reason the blades are scrapping the shear bar then!!! Big bloody crack right through it. Still can't get it out though.
  13. Great, just the words I wanted to see posted! Taken off all retaining bolts and clamp but the things don't budge.
  14. Hi Does anyone have any knowledge of taking out the shear bars on the above mentioned chipper. Thanks.
