  1. Looking for a new 50cc saw. Been a stihl man for 20+ years with no complaint but the latest 50cc saw has been so frustrating and now dealer says needs major £££££££'s spent!!!. Have a lot older stihls that keep on going and are way more reliable. SO decided to try husky 550xp?.First time visit to only local husky dealer found they had no huskys in at all?(would get one in if I wanted one) but a range of Echo's that they tried to sell me. To be honest didn't give them a glance as thought they were DIY saws. HOWEVER.... after looking on this forum for thoughts on the husky found quite a few unhappy with problems and realised husky has auto tune similar to M-tronic on the stihl (I am not a fan of electronic gizmo's on saws).BUT Have seen some very positive comments on the Echo's and they have a good warranty. Don't want to start a stihl V husky debate !! Anyone use a 501sx ? genuine feedback would be appreciated? as I am seriously considering a revisit to look at the Echo.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. They are down south. The local F/C guy is involved. Will attempt to send P/M.
  3. Hi, before i start great site My Parents own an ex F/C wood on their farm. Stands of corsican and hardwoods mixed with conifers. They have been approached by a contractor for woodchip production. The wood has HGV access and loading area and is within 20 miles of plant. The contractor will carry out all the work remove conifers from hardwoods, thin corsican stands and chip on site. They will pay per ton of chip delivered to plant. What would be a fair price ? (no wild guesses please)They dont expect to be millionares just a fair price and dont really know market value .
