if you pm me your address I could send you my duff one if you're stuck
Cheers CC, but I already have a duff one!
I managed to get hold of one today from the dealer that sold the saw. He had one in his drawer, it's a Briggs & Stratton number 285155121ZE and is also used on other saws by the looks of it. He had some parts website up which showed half a dozen companies offering the same part. They are available on ebay too. I don't know why the Komatsu parts list shows 285155120, maybe a supersession?

I should watch Woody Allens "Sleeper" for inspiration...

"an inspiring mechanic"? Is that him who was hammering away in the barn and then when it was dragged out into the light proceeded to look under the bonnet for the engine?

Graham,
Correct, and in German Honey Fungus (Armillaria) is Hallimasch, which was derived from "Heil im Arsch", meaning "benificial for one's arse", because of the laxative effect after consuming them.
So, Tony Christies song was actually about a cure for constipation then?

One day Chuang Tzu and a friend were walking by a river.
"Look at the fish swimming about," said Chuang Tzu, "They are really enjoying themselves."
"You are not a fish," replied the friend, "So you can't truly know that they are enjoying themselves."
"You are not me," said Chuang Tzu. "So how do you know that I do not know that the fish are enjoying themselves?"

What about the outdoor "sport" of angling with fishing rods and baited hooks then ?
Dutch research has shown, that a hooked fish experiences pain and extreme stress - fish have a nervous system - sometimes even leading to health problems after the fish is thrown back into the water.
To publically demonstrate the issue, a Dutchman had a stick with cord and hook, a bent nail, "baited" with a piece of sausage, dangling from his first floor window to "catch" dogs with. He was arrested, sepoenaed and sentenced to paying a fine of 100 guilders.
Fish are not dogs.
Apart from dogfish, of course.

tvo grey fergie tractor was the most common for this set-up, wouldnt work for a diesel.. 1 uses spark ignition the other compression ignition
Here you go. I knew they were out there.
Looking at the picture, I'm sure I even had a model one when I was a kid.

What about the Naturally Aspirated 2.25 diesel Series 2, 2a and early 3 Land Rovers? Were they not carb fed deisel powered?
No. I have heard of some engines used on machinery that used a carb and petrol to start up and then when running switched to diesel.
I've never heard of a road going vehicle having this overly complex system though.

Don't forget cut and run - if a ship missed high tide they would cut the anchor rather than sit in port
Worth your salt - when salt was an expensive commodity it only went so far down the table, hence if you were valuable to the people you were worth your salt
S.H.I.T. is actually an acronym for ship high in transit, put on the packages of bird poo so they did not get put in the hold ( when wet an explosive gas is released and sailors went down with open flame causing an explosion)
And why exactly did they send bird **** by boat? Were there no birds overseas in olden times who could provide the necessary? And what exactly did they need bird **** for anyway?
You've not thought it through, have you?

No, a zombie is fictional. The rest was interesting though, thanks.
Jesus! He still believes the media blackout!

thats because there is a male presence, and females being the way they are, prefer making us suffer as often and for as long a time as possible, they will readily synchronise their ovulation to spread out evenly over the month so that just when you think its all over, it starts again at the beginning:thumbdown:
Now that I can beleive!
-
Women in their fertile years regularely sharing the same rooms (mother-daughters, same sex partners, nuns), synchronize their ovulation.
I have often heard this said but whenever I have asked people I know who live with their wives and two or three daughters if it is actually true the reply has always been "It's a load of bollocks!"
-
Sadly missed.

Oh, now there's a surprise. He can't get hold of the bits.
I suggested that a Ryobi one might fit and he said "if you get one we'll fit it for you. We're not going to order bits to see if they fit."
I don't think I'll be taking anything else there.

I have borrowed a small electric splitter that supposedly delivers 4 tons. I'm still having to do most of the splitting by hand.
If I was looking to buy I wouldn't consider anything under 7 tons.
-
Still waiting to hear the verdict. Should hear something tomorrow.
-
Oh yes, they'll always come down if you wait long enough. But owners tend to prefer them alive for some reason.
-
if you can't get one I'm almost certain a ryobi rcs 4046c one will fit approx £8 not the chinese equivalent where are you located---close? p.s anyone else wantig to give a komatsu/zenoah away give me a call
I'm in Salop so not far from Cheshire. (I assume you're in Cheshire?)
I'll see what the man says in the morning.

I love the way number 1 manages to chuck stuff up the yard, give it something knotty and watch the compressor flog it’s guts out.
I like the way it clangs as the ram plate hits the cutter! Must need sharpening quite often.
-
Come on man, you can't leave it on a cliff-hanger like that!
Don't tell me I've got to watch next week, same time, same channel to find out if he actually succeeds in splitting it?
-
Going back to the compressor I bought, he also had another 25l receiver from an almost identical compressor but no motor or anything on it. I did wonder about the possibility of joining the two together thus giving me 50l.
Does anyone know if this would work? Would it perhaps half the life of the pump?
-
I think it's 250l, huge for a tyre garage anyway.
Not that huge. Your business is blowing tyres up after all.

Hmm, this thread has reminded me that our local RSPCA agent is also a fine looking woman.
I must find a reason to call her out again...
Septic tank and fruit trees

You don't really want any trees close to your soakaway. When we moved in there was a willow above ours and it destroyed the soakaway. Had to have the tree taken out, the roots dug up and a new soakaway put in.
